Strathmore Community Bank Donates $10,000 to Donations in Kind Recently the Rotary Club of Essendon applied for a grant to assist a wonderful organisation, Donations in Kind.

Strathmore Community Bank Donates $10,000 to Donations in Kind Recently the Rotary Club of Essendon applied for a grant to assist a wonderful organisation, Donations in Kind. Michael Maloney, Branch Manager of the Strathmore Branch of Bendigo Bank today presented Donations in Kind Co-ordinator, Bill Dagg with a cheque for $10,000 to assist DIK with rental costs for their warehouse located in Brooklyn. Current Board member, Michael Mahoney also presented Bill Dagg with a further $5000 from the club as part of our clubs on going committment to supporting Donations in Kind. Many of the Rotary Club of Essendon s international projects are supported by the efforts of Donations in Kind. Without their support our club would not be able to achieve the great results that we have had in the Phillipines and Myanmar. Stephen Chandler did a great job today with a fun quiz on Rotary International and our club. See how good you are, copies of the quiz are on page four and five with the answers on the sponsors page. The Rotary Club of Essendon has a proud history of serving our community for the past 75 years. We have undertaken major projects such as Rowallan Scouts Camp, the Traffic School, assisted Royal District Nursing, Caroline Chilsolm, Queens Park Sound Shelter to name a few. We also conduct major international projects overseas in the Phillipines, Mynamar and Kenya. 2 Community Up there Cazaly! $11, raised for Relay for Life The start of the Rotary year saw the club combine with the Brumby Babes to organise a dinner dance at Moonee Valley Racecourse featuring well known singer and songwriter Mike Brady. This Friday night started with the Community Committee setting up tents, tables and arranging a great feast for all those that came along. The club won $1000 from the organisers, some of the money was used obtain food vouchers and rest was donated back to the relay for Life. Food, food and more food...so much for walking and excercise to lose weight! The Rotary Club of Essendon again handled the responsibility for serving breakfast on Saturday morning. A great team effort by Petr Duras, Roger Priestly, Richard Lawrence, Michael & Judi Pepi, Tim Anderson, Michael Mahoney and Maria Kouppas. Page 2.
