2 PRESENTATION The International Trophy of Ciutat de Vilanova i la Geltrú is the result of the Catalan Fencing Federation to turn our territory into an international reference point of fencing. With more than 40 years of experience in organizing this type of event, Ciutat de Vilanova i la Geltrú joins the list of top international competitions already held here: World Cup Ciutat de Barcelona, World Cup Junior Ciutat de Terrassa and the Sant Jordi International Trophy. This competition will also be a boost to the U23 category which is having a very good reception and is being especially driven by the European Fencing Confederation. Budapest (Hongria), Colmar (France), Moëdling (Austria), Laussane (Suiza), Busto Arsizio (Italy) and this year Vilanova i la Geltrú (Spain) joins the organizing venues of the European Circuit U23 and matches to the main European powers in this sport. The International Trophy of Ciutat de Vilanova i la Geltrú is a U23 competition and Senior OPEN. It a bet by the Catalan Federation of Fencing for all those fencers who begin in the high performance can have a sub category 23 tournament, offering the youngest fencers the opportunity to compete in a category that is having very good acceptance at worldwide, since the change of category junior to senior is very abrupt. The FCE hopes that this competition will be very beneficial for all those athletes who participate, giving them the opportunity to compete in a test of international top level. The competition system is specially designed with the aim of maximizing the number of matches that each shooter contests and thus favor the practice.the Catalan Fencing Federation has earned its reputation as an organizer of sport events throughout the 40 editions of the Barcelona World Cup female epee. The International Fencing Federation (FIE) has recognized and thanked the organizational success on numerous occasions.

3 COMPETITION VENUE The competition will be held at the premises of the CEM Isaac Gálvez, facilities with more than localities and two pavilions. TIMETABLE Saturday 24 th March 5 pm to 8 pm: Weapon control in CEM Isaac Galvez Sunday 25 th March 7:00 am: Hall opens 7:30 am to 10 am: Weapon control and payment of entry fee 8:30: Start men competition 10:00: Start women competition Timetables may be affected by participation. They will be copying two weeks before the competition.

4 EVENT HOTEL Soon the information of the official hotel of the competition will be announced. ENTRIES Following EFC rules, these fencers, which have not been registered, previously, will not accept to the Open. The entries are to be made by the National Federation via the EFC website. Please remember that the last day for the entries is 16th March Under 23 fencers: Born between 1995 and 2003 (inclusive) Senior fencers: Born between 1994 or earlier. ENTRIES FEE The entries fee for the competition will be paid to the Competition Secretary during the confirmation of fencers. 25 REFEREE CONTRIBUTION The contribution of referees will be done by each country following FIE rules: Will be by national delegations: From 1 to 4 fencers: 0 referee From 5 to 9 fencers: 1 referee 10 or more fencers: 2 referee

5 The deadline to book a referee in advance is March 16thn The referees shall be confirmed at the fencer s confirmation time and must be at the disposal of the Technical Directory throughout the competition. They must confirm their presence on the day of the competition at 7:30 h at the Directoir Technique. WEAPON CONTROL The weapon control will be carried out at the competition facilities on Saturday April 24th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Will pass control equipment: Epee (maximum 4) Mask (maximum 2) Bodywire (maximum 3) SERVICES There will be a service bar-restaurant during the competition. There will be free WIFI at the official hotel.
