Mr. President: The Spanish Federation of Fishing and Casting have the honour to invite the national team of his country to participate in the 18º European Championship of sport fishing in fresh water, which will take place at the Guadiana river, passing through the city of Mérida (Spain), from 18 to 24 June We hope your presence in this ancient city where you will find an excellent venue for the practice of sport fishing and which you can enjoy traditional hospitality and warm welcome of its inhabitants. 4 PROGRAM 18º Coarse Angling European Championship r From: Sunday 17th June 2012 (Arrival of the teams) To: Monday 25th June 2012 (Departure of teams) Place of the competition: Mérida (Badajoz) - Spain Where we are: Mérida is located in the Province of Badajoz, being the capital of the community of Extremadura. How to get to it: By plane: Madrid (Barajas) 340 km of Mérida by Highway. E-90 / A-5 Seville 190 km. from Mérida by highway E-803 / A-66 Talavera la Real 40 km. away from Mérida (for this airport is in Barcelona or Madrid the transfer). Venue of the Championship: Left side of the Guadiana river as it passes through the city of Mérida. Sectors: (Sector A - "Los Espárragos"); (Sector B - "Prado C "); (Sector B. " Prado C "); (Sector D - " Prado A "); (Sector E - "The Canyon"-Las Barracas). The venues consists of 260 concrete platforms distance between 12 and 13 m. The width of the River in different sectors is between 100 and 300 m and depth of its waters ranges from 1.5 to 4.5 m.

7 The predominant species that inhabit its waters are: carp weighing between 100 and 4,000 grams; Carpines between 100 and 900 grams; Catfish between 30 and 500 grams; Alburnos between 10 and 40 grams and less barbel, Bogas, Blak-Bass, Percasoles, Sabaletas Closure of the Venue : Venue will be closed 4th June, 2012, not being able to fish less than 500 m from the boundaries of the venue, or the same. 8 Baits: 2.5 liters, of which a maximum amount of 1 liter of aquatic larvae, including 0.5 liter maximunof bloodworms Baskets spares: They must have a minimum of 4 m length and a diameter of 40 cm at least for the round and 50 cm diagonal to the rectangular.
