Please be aware that there may be delays due to a high number of hotel guests. The hotel offers storage for your luggage if you arrive early. Board Your participation fee includes full board, served throughout the day: Breakfast will be served from 7:30 am 9:00 am (only for delegates who booked the accommodation option) Lunch will be served at 1:00 pm (Saturday and Sunday) Dinner will be served at 6:00 pm 7:30 pm (Friday and Saturday) 3

4 Snacks and beverages will be offered during the committee sessions. Participants are encouraged to continue negotiations and to socialize after hours. The hotel does not have a curfew. Getting there If you take the train: the Nuremberg main train station is situated within a 20-minute walking distance from the hotel and conference venue. Please be aware of the complicated parking situation if you take a private car. We strongly recommend you use public transport. After the conference, we will also provide a guide back to the train station from the hotel reception. Conference Material / Information We will provide name tags, placards, WIFI and other material when you check in. However, we do not provide the following and highly recommend that you bring it with you: One laptop computer (for research and resolution writing) An empty USB flash drive ( memory stick ) Writing paper and pen/pencil Index cards for speeches (best formats are A6 or A7) Topics / Preparation The rules of procedure generally follow UN General Assembly conduct. They are similar to the NMUN rules of procedure for those who use BayernMUN as a preparation for NMUN. The complete rules of procedure will be available on our website. The provisional agenda of the BayernMUN conference 2018 contains the following three topics: 1) Human Rights: Ensuring Access to Clean and Safe Water 2) Security: Ensuring Women s and Men s Equal Participation in Democratic Governance and Peacebuilding 3) Development: Achieving the SDGs through Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) and Data-Driven Decision-Making Background guides with further information about these topics are available on our website Writing of position papers is encouraged but not required. The deadline for position papers is at midnight from February 13 th to 14 th. Please send your position paper to secretariat@bayernmun.org. Resolution writing is aligned to match NMUN. We will not accept material written prior to the conference, since one of the goals is the collaborative effort to find solutions for the topics. 4

5 Dress Code and Code of Conduct Please adhere to the dress code and code of conduct of the United Nations: International Business Attire and diplomatic decorum is mandatory during sessions. The Chair reserves the right to sanction violations of dress code and code of conduct to ensure a smooth and professional conference. Awards BayernMUN offers three categories of awards for outstanding performance in the conference: Outstanding Delegation Awarded by the Chair to delegations who have shown active involvement, negotiation skills and professional, diplomatic behavior throughout the conference. Outstanding Delegate in Committee Awarded by a peer vote to the delegation that has impressed the most other delegations. Excellent Position Paper Awarded by the Chair to delegations who have submitted an excellent position paper. Questions?
