6 REGISTRATION INFORMATION CHECK-IN PROCEDURES - FRIDAY, OCTOBER 8 Upon arriving at Centennial Camp, you will be directed by signs that will guide you to the Bicentennial Center. At the Bicentennial Center, registration staff will check you into the event, give you any registration materials needed, and collect any forms. Youth and adults will make a short walk to their site with their personal gear. One vehicle for unit supplies will be allowed to drive to the camping areas. This is for traffic and pedestrian safety. Special lots will be designated for troop trailers near the troop camping area. Boy Scout Troops will be directed to their district headquarters tent where the Senior Patrol Leader and Scoutmaster will check the troop in. District campmasters will guide your troop to your campsite. Sites will be pre-assigned so you must check in with the district headquarters. Camping sites will be based on the total number of weekend passes with paid registration using the National BSA standards. Cub Scout Packs may camp overnight. The BSA guideline for youth/adult ratio of 1:1 will apply. Packs will be directed to the Cub and Family Camping area. The Cubmaster will check in with the area campmasters who will be able to direct you to your site. Sites will be preassigned based on your registration count. Venture Scouts will be directed to the Venture camping area. The Crew Advisor and President will check the crew in at the headquarters where area campmasters will direct you to your site. If the parking lots on site are full, you will be directed to overflow locations where a shuttle bus will transport you back to Centennial Camp. Once parked, you will register at the Administration Center located in the Bicentennial Center where you will receive your wristbands or other information. If you have pre-registered and have your wristbands and other information, you will be able to bypass this step and go enjoy the activities. Pre-registration is strongly recommended. No one will be allowed to participate in any activity unless they have a wristband. 5

7 IMPORTANT INFORMATION IDENTIFICATION At all times each attendee MUST wear the wristband event ID that will be provided to you at the October Roundtable (if pre-registered) or at the event. These bands serve as your entrance to all the activities and ensure that everyone that is at the event is allowed to be there. Security for the event will be looking to make sure each attendee is wearing their wristband. Those that are not will be directed back to the Administration Center to register. Wristbands will be color coded denoting the age or category of each participant (Tigers, Cubs, Webelos, Scouts, Ventures, Adults, Siblings). Access to the activities will be based on your wristband to ensure age appropriate participation. The Centennial Camp Program Committee is guaranteeing each age level will have numerous activities available to them. Replacement bands will be subject to verification of payment. It is important that each attendee wears their wristband for the entirety of the event. RULES The Scout Oath, Scout Law, Law of the Pack and the Outdoor Code serve as the rule book for all Scouting events. In addition, the following rules must be observed: No Sheath knives, personal firearms, or fireworks of any kind will be allowed at Centennial Camp (in the possession of youth or adult). Any of the above items discovered by camp staff will be confiscated until the unit checks out with their campmaster Sunday morning. No alcoholic beverages, illegal or illicit drugs will be tolerated. Anyone, youth or adult, found to be in possession of these items will be turned over to law enforcement. Drivers and passengers must wear seat belts at all times while riding in a vehicle. No persons in cargo beds or sitting loose in vans. We ask that all leaders assist us in enforcing these policies. We encourage leaders to take one additional step toward setting a good example for the youth of our council. Please give serious consideration on taking a weekend break from use of all tobacco products. Young minds are impressionable and Scouting youth frequently look to their leaders as role models. 6

8 IMPORTANT INFORMATION WHAT TO BRING Troops, packs, teams, posts and crews will be responsible for their own meals during the event and should plan accordingly. No ground fires will be permitted, propane fires only. There will not be any disposal area for hot coals. Units are encouraged to plan easy to fix breakfasts to allow Scouts to get to the program areas as they open. In addition to troop equipment, the following list is provided to assist campers in the selection of their personal gear. Space will be restricted and you are only camping for two nights. Do not over pack. Refer to your Boy Scout Handbook for additional assistance. Annual Health and Medical Record (parts A & C) Uniform - Can wear activity shirt (Class B) during the day.
