3 JUNE 2018 ARABIAN KNIGHTS PAGE 3 Recorder s Message Greetings to all my Noble-Masons and Ladies, June is going to be a very busy month; Drivers Safety Seminar Saginaw , Chicago Hospital Day with bus transportation, Paper sale kick-offs on 6th (Circus Park) and 20th (Charlie Fick s) in Grayling, Shrine Fest June 9th, Stated Meeting on at Saginaw and Fathers Day on June 17th. Nobles, we have 172 members who have not paid dues for 2018, this amounts to over $21, SIXTY-THREE % of these funds are for Temple operations and THIRTY-SEVEN % goes to Imperial Shrine. Our proceeds from the Circus were not as expected and we need you Nobles to pay your dues. Dues are due on January 1st each year and it s now June. PLEASE PAY YOUR 2018 DUES NOW! We need these funds for general operational expenses. Life Members, did you know that the Temple has been paying your Per Capita as a courtesy since you became a Life Member? Imperial Shrine bills Elf Khurafeh Shrine $30.00 Per Capita for each member, each year. Members paying Regular Dues this amount is included in your dues statement. With operational costs continuing to rise, it may be necessary in the very near future to request all Life Members to also pay the yearly Imperial Per Capita Assessment of $ This courtesy amounted to over $10, in 2017 and over several years has amounted to a substantial amount of money which could have been used for maintenance and repair of Elf Khurafeh Shrine property. To all Life Members that are not paying the Per Capita, Please consider sending $30.00 to the Temple to help with our Per Capita cost to Imperial Shrine. This gesture on your part would be greatly appreciated. As of this writing we only have 2 candidates listed for the Spring Ceremonial in Grayling, Nobles, we need your help on new Members. HELP! HELP! HELP! The Hospital Transportation Unit needs DRIVERS, we have turned down trips to the Chicago Hospital for lack of drivers and this should not happen. The only expense for driving to the Hospital is your time and a few bucks for gas to get to the vans. You will receive many thanks from Our Kids and their parents, with lots of smiles. Daryl challenged all Shriners to collect more money then he can in his jugs that he places in location around the city. Daryl, however, has a head start, he has collected over $2700 dollars so far this year. Daryl picks them up at a later date. The merchant's (warm hearted) customers put their spare change in the jugs to help out the Shriner's Children. Daryl has many jugs for you, just call Daryl or Betty at the office and he will see to it you get them. Noble John Banning presented one of Daryl's jugs that he put in a party store and before he knew it it was full on money with the help of his son who donated $20 to help our Children's Hospitals. Illustrious Sir Robert Swartwood now chairman of the Finance Committee sold his 1959 Studebaker for $5000 and donated it to the Shrine. Robert was a productive Potentate in 2017 and continues to this day to be ebullient about the Shrine. High Priest & Prophet Philip Brack talks about the SHRINEFEST to be held on June 9th.
