Dan not only shoots typical community events and an occasional wedding, but his true passion is nature and the outdoors. He finds that the lighting outdoors brings out an unique aspect of nature. Dan presented to the members and guests a series of slides from a recent trip to Nepal. Dan demonstrated that trips to countries like Nepal is another part of his business where he leads photography trips. He uses local companies to handle logistics so he can spend his time teaching his fellow travelers about photography. Dan travels about once a month to lead photography workshops, photo tours, and adventure trips. Twice a year he leads an international trip. His next big outing is an adventure to Katmai National Park, Alaska to photograph the brown bears of the Brooks River. Dan works with his fellow travelers and teaches them how to use their cameras to create powerful images; tricks and tips for beautiful wildlife photographs; and composition featuring landscape and scenery.
