3 THE UNIVERSITY GATEWAY University Gateway is the contemporary front door to a campus embarking on its second remarkable century. This district was planned to be a regional center for the exchange of ideas. It is anchored by the elegant Mondavi Center for the Arts. Both the Walter A. Buehler Alumni and Visitors Center and our Hotel and Conference Center frame a charming greenspace while offering many unique spaces to accommodate a variety of celebrations. VANDERHOEF QUAD

4 UC DAVIS THE MONDAVI CONFERENCE CENTER CENTER BARBARA K. AND W. TURRENTINE JACKSON HALL Known for its eye catching architecture and acoustic excellence, this 1,800seat theater is gaining an international reputation as a superb performance space. Our state of the art sound and lighting systems can be finetuned acoustically and otherwise for all types of events from concerts to Broadway productions, to lectures and commencements. UC DAVIS CONFERENCE CENTER The UC Davis Conference Center is a stateoftheart learning and meeting complex adjacent to the Hyatt Place hotel. The Conference Center blends comfort, versatility and style in the campus newest event facility. It includes a large multiconfiguration ballroom. The Hyatt Place is a threestory hotel that has 75 guest suites, a gym, 24 hour food service, complementary wireless internet, and an outdoor swimming pool for your convenience. VANDERHOEF STUDIO THEATRE The 3,000 square foot Studio Theatre features a window wall overlooking an outdoor plaza and the UC Davis Arboretum. It is a fully equipped theater suitable for dance, drama and music performances, and it can also be set up as a dining or lecture space. 5 THE ALUMNI AND VISITORS CENTER The ambience of this beautiful and versatile facility is enhanced by rich interior details, including two art galleries, a treelined patio and garden leading to the UC Davis Arboretum. Amenities include: active data ports, a sound system with wireless microphones, electronically retractable projection screens, assisted listening devices and convenient catering areas. An extensive stock of tables and chairs is included with each rental. WEST CONFERENCE ROOM AND ALLEWELT CONFERENCE ROOM These conference rooms can accommodate 12 to 28 for breakout sessions or can serve as staging areas for catering or conference activities. AGR ROOM A room of many moods, this facility features a vaulted ceiling, fireplace, natural lighting and views of a shaded patio and manicured lawns. FOUNDERS BOARD ROOM AGR ROOM MOSS PATIO MOSS PATIO This private outdoor patio features the mature trees and flowers of its own garden and also faces the Arboretum s diverse plant and animal life. Moss Patio is an ideal companion space for indoor meetings and can be booked separately for formal dining and garden parties. FOUNDERS BOARD ROOM This spacious and impressive conference room features a 18foot walnut conference table, a credenza, and leatherupholstered chairs. It is a distinguished setting for executive sessions or board meetings. 6 LARRY VANDERHOEF QUAD GOOD LIFE GARDEN In the midst of the University Gateway District sits a grassy and modern outdoor space. With a limestone walkway and an avantgarde vertical waterfall, the Vanderhoef Quad is the perfect breakout venue for events in the district. LARRY VANDERHOEF QUAD The Good Life Garden is an everchanging edible landscape. This venue features organic and sustainablygrown vegetables, herbs and flowers accompanied by food and health signage for the benefit of its visitors. The mission of the UC Davis Good Life Garden is to communicate to all its visitors the vibrant and important connection between good food and good health. 7 THE QUAD DISTRICT The Quad is the historic center of UC Davis as well as the center of student life. Freeborn Hall and Memorial Union meeting rooms are located in the Quad District and can be booked individually or together. These facilities form a conference district that can accommodate up to 1,800 people in a versatile space with numerous breakout rooms. Across from the Memorial Union is the treelined Quad, offering acres of expansive green lawn for events of all kinds. THE QUAD

8 FREEBORN HALL THE MEMORIAL UNION This versatile auditorium provides an excellent setting for banquets, auctions, weddings, conferences, concerts and tradeshows. In addition to a spacious main floor area, Freeborn Hall features a proscenium stage, theatrical lighting, two backstage dressing rooms with restrooms and showers, and an onsite box office. Lighting, sound and audio/visual equipment can be used to enhance stage presentations, proms, concerts or any event setup. Flexible seating and a large selection of event decorations and pipe and drape systems make this one our most adaptable event spaces. STAGE MEMORIAL UNION MEETING ROOMS Located in the heart of the campus, the M.U. includes seven meeting rooms varying in size and configuration, These can serve as convenient breakout rooms for larger events in Freeborn Hall. The Memorial Union serves as a business center, with onsite retail including the campus bookstore, a U.S. post office, and the student run Coffee House. It s also a great place to relax and have fun at the campus bowling alley, billiards room and arcade. 9 LECTURE HALLS AND CLASSROOMS THE QUAD Ranging in capacity from fifteen to over three hundred, several dozen affordable classrooms and lecture halls frame the Quad District. They each come with built in audio visual equipment at no extra charge. The treelined Quad is located at the center of campus, and is host to a variety of events each year. Seated across from the Memorial Union, the Quad is a flexible venue that can be tented to suit your event. This grassy space is perfect for outdoor events like openair concerts, vendor fairs and festivals. 10 THE SILO DISTRICT Home to UC Davis worldclass education, the Silo District offers lecture halls suited for professional settings as well as rustic spaces for dining and smaller conferences. The district is anchored by a restored dairy barn, the Silo, reminiscent of our agricultural history. Today, the Silo houses the Cabernet conference room and offers onsite retail dining at the Gunrock Pub. LIFE SCIENCES BUILDING

11 GUNROCK PUB CAFE GUNROCK PUB CABERNET ROOM Gunrock Pub Café is a fullservice restaurant that offers a classic menu based on locallygrown, seasonal ingredients. It is easily accessible from many meeting rooms on campus for casual retail dining. Located in the Silo District, Gunrock Pub Café includes a landscaped, private patio nestled in this historic setting. 12 LECTURE HALLS AND CLASSROOMS When it comes to lecture or classroom space, UC Davis as a top research university is the ideal choice. The campus offers rooms ranging in capacity from 15 to more than 500. Sophisticated audio/visual equipment comes at no extra charge with built in state of the art classroom technology. Catering can be provided onsite or event participants can mingle with faculty, staff and students at one of the many oncampus retail dining spots. 13 THE ARC DISTRICT One of the region s premier event facilities, the ARC Conference Center features more than 6,200 square feet of event space, including a multiconfiguration ballroom and two meeting rooms, plus an adjacent courtyard. The Pavilion, an 8,000seat arena, expands the scope of event possibilities. Easy freeway access and ample parking just steps away make this an ultimately convenient destination for trade shows, athletic events, banquets, receptions and meetings. ARC PATIO

14 THE ARC ARC BALLROOM An impressive ballroom opens onto a private courtyard. This space is ideal for parties, banquets, conferences or information fairs. A state of the art audio/visual system with built in sound and well designed lighting options enhance the ambience of any event. The Ballroom can be divided into two separate meeting rooms, each with its own ceilingmounted projection screen. 15 THE AGGIE RECREATION STADIUM POOL LODGE Opened in 2007, this modern stadium offers Division I quality amenities. The 105,000square foot Aggie Stadium is the perfect venue for athletic events such as intercollegiate football, soccer, women s lacrosse and field hockey. Or use the complex for concerts and ceremonies. Whatever the occasion, up to 11,000 spectators can attend and enjoy perks of a ticket office, scoreboard and video screen, as well as concession stands. MAIN ROOM With its natural woodpaneled interior, floortoceiling windows, a stone fireplace and balcony, the Recreation Pool Lodge lends itself to a variety of events from business meetings to social functions. The large main room has hardwood flooring and a gas fireplace. It is furnished with comfortable upholstered chairs. The smaller West Lounge is well suited to lectures and breakout sessions and can also serve as a buffet area. Second level rooms can be combined and configured for a variety of events. A carpeted balcony overlooks the main floor and also has its own exterior staircase. BRUCE EDWARDS CLUB ROOM The Bruce Edwards Club Room in Aggie Stadium is one of the university s newest meeting facilities. Located on the concourse level on the west side of the stadium, Bruce Edwards Club Room comes with complete audio/visual assistance. A spacious treelined patio has two builtin barbeque grills and can be set up for outdoor dining. The grounds include an expansive lawn area, and are adjacent to a large recreational swimming pool. 16 THE ARBORETUM DISTRICT Along the southwest strip of campus Putah Creek drifts serenely by, setting the backdrop for the Arboretum District. Known for its impressive and worldly botanic collection, the colorful Arboretum sets the mood for events of all types and features a charming gazebo. Intimate Putah Creek Lodge, at the east end, serves as the district s indoor space and offers audio/visual equipment and other indoor amenities. ARBORETUM

17 PUTAH CREEK LODGE ARBORETUM Overlooking Putah Creek in the southwest section of the UC Davis Arboretum, Putah Creek Lodge is a unique hexagonshaped facility with many appealing indoor and outdoor amenities. Inside, the focal point is a distinctive fireplace. The room is carpeted and has an adjacent fully equipped kitchen. French doors lead to a patio which circles the building and overlooks acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. Outdoor amenities include a large builtin barbecue, picnic tables, a well shaded picnic area and an amphitheater with bench seating around a fire pit which can be used for campfire presentations, lectures or ceremonies.
