4 DAY 1: Wednesday 23rd May, 2018 MELBOURNE TO PORT MACQUARIE Welcome to our 10 day tour to Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour. Today we are picked up from home and make our way to Melbourne Airport to join our flight via Sydney to Port Macquarie. Our O Shannessy s Touring Coach will be there to meet us on our arrival. From the airport we make our way to our accommodation, home for the next 5 nights. Lunch own arrangements and cost OVERNIGHT: Waters Edge Resort, Port Macquarie DAY 2: Thursday 24th May PORT MACQUARIE After breakfast we embark on a guided sightseeing tour of the area including a visit to the historic St Thomas Church. Then we make a fascinating visit to the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital. Whilst here we enjoy an informative tour and talk and meet some of the patients! Next is a visit to the Sea Acres Nature Reserve. The Rainforest Park comprises of 72 hectares of rare coastal rainforest and we ll have lunch here followed by the opportunity to take a walk through this magnificent area. We head back to the motel for the remainder of the day and freshen up before our evening meal. OVERNIGHT: Waters Edge Resort Port Macquarie

5 DAY 3: Friday 25th May, 2018 MORE OF PORT MACQUARIE & WAUCHOPE We have some free time this morning to take in Port as Port Macquarie is called by the locals, before we make our way to Ricardoes Tomatoes & Strawberries where we enjoy a guided tour of the farm followed by lunch. The greenhouses boast five varieties of hydroponic strawberries and eight varieties of tomatoes. This afternoon, we drive to Wauchope for a visit to Timbertown. A living museum set on 87 acres of Broken Bago State Forest, Timbertown is an authentically re-created timbergetters village showcasing life as it was 100 years ago. They were the days when man worked with his hands - the smithy, shingle splitter, sleeper cutter and wood turner. While we re here, we also visit Vickers Fudge Shop for a tasting. We top off the day at the Bago Vineyard & Maze. Here we can enjoy a tasting and for those with a sense of adventure or should that be a sense of direction we can have a go a conquering the maze! (own cost). After a great day we return to Port Macquarie for dinner at the resort. OVERNIGHT: Waters Edge Resort, Port Macquarie DAY 4: Saturday 26th May, 2018 CAMDEN HAVEN This morning, we enjoy a cruise on the River Hastings through the everglade rainforest, navigating through 3 river systems seeing water lillies, pristine rainforest, huge elk horns, birds

6 and wildlife in this fascinating environment. We ll enjoy morning tea onboard. Back on dry land, we head down the coast to Lake Cathie then onto Laurieton taking in the spectacular scenery of this coastline. After lunch in Laurieton we travel up North Brother Mountain for a magnificent view of the Camden Haven area. As we re returning to the Port, we ll stop in at Cassegrain Winery for a tasting. OVERNGHT: Waters Edge Resort, Port Macquarie Day 5: Sunday 27th May, 2018 FORSTER AND NABIAC We head south this morning to Forster Tuncurry where we have the opportunity to see one of Australia s cleanest lakes - Wallis Lake. The lake stretches for 25 kilometres between Wallingat State Forest and a sliver of land that separates the lake from the sea. Our morning tea cruise will take us on a tour of these crystal clear, pristine waters, home to a rich seafood harvest including the famous Wallis Lake oyster. After disembarking we have lunch in Forster before we head across to the nearby town of Nabiac to visit the National Motorcycle Museum of Australia. This is a purpose built complex that houses some 800 motorcycles together with an enormous array of motorcycle

7 memorabilia, toys, an extensive private library and a motorcycle orientated gift shop. We return to our motel in time to freshen up before dinner. OVERNIGHT: Waters Edge Resort, Port Macquarie DAY 6: Monday 28th May, 2018 PORT MACQUARIE TO COFFS HARBOUR We hit the Highway this morning straight to Kempsey to the Slim Dusty Centre. Opened in November 2015, the Slim Dusty Museum exhibition features objects and images from the Kirkpatrick family s own extensive archive, as well as contributions from fans and friends from all over the world. This afternoon we head to South West Rocks to visit Trial Bay Gaol. Work on the Trial Bay Gaol commenced in 1877 as an experiment in penal reform. It was constructed of locally quarried pink and gray granite with the first wing being completed in 1886 and completed in It was closed in 1903 but reopened in 1915 to hold internees from Germany as a result of World War I where they were allowed out onto the beaches during the day but locked up at night. Following our visit to the museum, we drive north to Coffs Harbour where we settle into out motel and freshen up for dinner. 8 DAY 7: Tuesday 29th May, 2018 COFFS HARBOUR This morning we are joined by our locally based guide and depart on a sightseeing tour of the area. From the motel we head for Bruxner Park (Sealys Lookout) - a scenic drive through banana and avocado plantations with spectacular views across Koroa Basin and out to sea. Then it s onto Carobana for a guided tour showing how various fruits, nuts, and sweets are coated with carob which is the natural alternative to chocolate. After enjoying a sample or two we head for the jetty area and a short run around the man-made harbour before continuing onto Beacon Hill for an informative talk on the history of Coffs Harbour. We then return to Coffs Harbour for lunch (own expense) and some free time for shopping. Our last call of the day is at The Clog Barn for a clog making demonstration. Lunch own arrangements and cost OVERNIGHT: Opal Cove Resort, Coffs Harbour DAY 8: Wednesday 30th May, 2018 BELLIGEN & DORRIGO NATIONAL PARK Today we will enjoy the magnificent Bellinger Valley and Dorrigo Plateau. We start with a wander through the historic township of Bellingen with its craft shops and galleries. The town s traditional-style main street (the highlight of which is the

9 restored Hammond and Wheatley Emporium) is as grand as its name suggests. We then travel up to the Dorrigo Plateau where we visit Dangar Falls and the Dorrigo National Park. We see some magnificent rainforest country and stunning views. The information centre and a number of easy walks will introduce us to the beauty and serenity of the rainforest. The Skywalk will provide us with some spectacular views. We enjoy a light lunch at the Canopy Café in the Rainforest Centre before driving back towards the coast. Our afternoon stop is at the award winning Raleigh Vineyard and Winery where we sample some unique wines, ports and their famous liqueur-style brandy creams. We can also enjoy some cheese tastings on the beautiful riverside deck whilst overlooking the spectacular Bellinger River. After a fabulous day, we return to the resort for dinner. OVERNIGHT: Opal Cove Resort, Coffs Harbour DAY 9: Thursday 31st May, 2018 COFFS HARBOUR AND URUNGA This morning we are off to Dolphin Marine Magic for the Marine Discovery Presentation. Dolphin Marine Magic is home to dozens of animals, more notably the Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphins, seals, a flock of Little Penguins, Green Sea Turtles, fresh water turtles and a variety of endemic fish species. After our morning with the wildlife we rejoin the

10 coach and head south about 30 minutes to Urunga. Urunga is one of the State's secret treasures set on a coastal location at the mouth of the Bellinger and Kalang Rivers. We stop for lunch and then this afternoon we enjoy a leisurely walk along Urunga s Boardwalk. This Boardwalk is a timber walkway that starts at the Urunga Heads Tourist Park and ends at the mouth of the river a distance of almost 1 kilometre. It was built over the Urunga wetlands, and along the Bellinger River seawall to the beach. We complete our day with a visit to the Honey Place. We have a chance to taste and buy the local honey before returning to Coffs Harbour for dinner. OVERNIGHT: Opal Cove Resort, Coffs Harbour DAY 10: Friday 1st June, 2018 COFFS HARBOUR TO MELBOURNE We check out of our accommodation this morning and make our way to the Coffs Harbour Airport where we board our mid-morning flight to Melbourne via Sydney. We arrive home having had a fabulous holiday to Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour. Lunch own arrangement and cost We trust you arrive home safely with memories of a fascinating and rewarding tour.
