Tour Price Includes: Pick up from and return to your home - Greater Melbourne, Ballarat, Bendigo, Geelong, the Bellarine and Mornington Peninsulas, and some areas of Gippsland and Phillip Island. Return Airfares: Melbourne - Hamilton Island with Virgin Airlines and transfers to Airlie Beach. Travel by our own state of the art luxury coach, equipped with restroom, satellite phone, fold-down arm rests, seat belts and extra leg room. Our coach has a kneeling device and second door for ease of entry and disembarkation. Our coach is also fitted with Road Cam TV monitors which display in real time the road ahead. 4 Welcome to our 8 day Whitsunday Experience Based in Airlie Beach Airlie Beach is located in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, on the tropical coast of Queensland. A visit to the Whitsundays is a feast of the senses, surrounded by natural beauty, dotted with secluded beaches and friendly towns from which to explore. The hardest part is choosing how to fit it all in. We explore this incredible diversity from the bow of a catamaran boat around some of the 74 islands in the area of which we visit one of them - Hamilton Island. We also spend a few days visiting some of the mainland highlights Bowen, Mackay and Cape Gloucester. We go looking for Crocodiles and other tropical creatures up the Proserpine River and through the cane fields. There is also time to relax at our accommodation. Yes, the Whitsunday s is a dreamy place with few flaws. We are delighted to present this exciting tour with 7 nights at the same motel in Airlie Beach.

5 DAY 1: Sunday 29th July, 2018 Melbourne Whitsundays With pickup from your home, we transfer to Melbourne Airport to join our flights to the Whitsundays. We will be met at Hamilton Island Airport by our O Shannessy s coach crew before boarding the ferry to the Mainland and to our accommodation for the next 7 nights. Colonial Palms Motor Inn, is within easy walking distance to the quaint tourist township of Airlie Beach. The Airlie Beach resort village abounds with shops, restaurants and entertainment venues. We have free time this afternoon to relax around one of the two resort pools and spa, or take a stroll before enjoying our first dinner together. Lunch own expense / arrangement today DAY 2: Monday 30th July, 2018 Bowen Day Trip After a leisurely breakfast, we board our coach for a day trip to Bowen. Our first stop will be at the Big Mango, representing the delicious fruit which carries the name sake of the town Bowen Mango. After a photo stop, we continue a few kilometers in to the township of Bowen, where our local guide will show us some of the sights and history of the area. All of Bowen s history can be retraced at the Bowen Historical Museum, from Catalina Flying Boats, to the unbelievable story of James Morrill and his courageous story of survival. Bowen has 25 historical murals, which are proudly displayed throughout Bowen s streets, depicting the diverse history from the town s early settlement to present day. Bowen also has some excellent beaches and is a popular spot for holiday makers. Next we make a stop at a beautiful Hibiscus Farm which has won the Best Hibiscus Farm for the last 4 years in a row.

6 DAY 3: Tuesday 31st July, 2018 Hamilton Island Enjoy the views from the Whitsunday Catamaran as we sail across to Hamilton Island for the day. Once there, we board the Hamilton Island Shuttle Bus for a short tour to see where the rich and famous stay. It will also take us around to the facilities available on the Island. Then if you choose, you can hire your own buggy for a bit of fun (optional extra - From approx. $46 for 1 hour). Lunch today will be at the Marina overlooking the multimillion dollar yachts moored there. On the cruise home sit back, breathe in the sea air and take in the beautiful scenery. Optional Extra: There is an option today to include a visit to beautiful Whitehaven Beach. The gorgeous white sand and warm turquoise water makes it one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, stretching for seven kilometres. The sand is almost 100% silica and as you step ashore and sink into the powder fine sand you realise why you have come here. If you wish to take up this option, you will depart early in the morning for Whitehaven, then return to Hamilton Island to join the rest of the group in the afternoon. Lunch is included. Please note that this MUST be booked at time of booking on the tour. Extra cost will be $35 per person. DAY 4: Wednesday 1st August, 2018 Cape Gloucester - Earlando s Farm This morning we take a drive to Cape Gloucester to enjoy morning tea looking over the picturesque beach. We then visit Earlando s Farm & Beach - where pristine private beaches

7 meet the real Australian outback and a working cattle property. Here we will learn about the secret life of the Australian Stockman and experience the tricks of the trade. Lunch is provided here before we head back to Airlie Beach after a great day. DAY 5: Thursday 2nd August, 2018 Mackay If you re curious about how a sugar mill works and how sugar cane is turned into sweet and yummy sugar, then a Farleigh Sugar Mill tour is where we will learn all about it. We will be taken through the mill by our guide and have the process explained to us step by step. See close up how the crushing of sugar cane takes place. From here, we make our way into the city of Mackay, a major north Queensland coastal city with export Wharf facilities for the region. After a lunch break, we visit the Queens Park Orchid House to view the magnificent orchids. Queens Park, is also an oasis of large Banyan Fig and Royal Palm trees, some well over a century old. After a great day, we head back to our accommodation in Airlie Beach to freshen up before going out for dinner at the Airlie Beach Sailing Club whilst watching the sun set. DAY 6: Friday 3rd August, 2018 Whitsunday Crocodile Safari Today is our chance to spot crocodiles in their natural habitat on Proserpine River, on the fully guided Whitsunday Crocodile Safari.

8 This river is home to the estuarine (salt water) crocodile. The safari features a calm water river cruise and with the help of professional local guides, we will learn how a mangrove eco system works and meet some of the interesting inhabitants. We travel on the Goorganga Plains in a tractor-drawn wagon-train, enjoying a panoramic view of this nationally listed wetland habitat, experiencing unique Australian scenery and wildlife. We will travel through flood plains, pastures, saltpans and melaleuca forests. We should also see many species of native birds, mammals, reptiles and marine animals. You certainly won t want to miss the chance to see crocodiles in the wild. Sample some bushman s billy tea and damper for morning tea, followed by a tradional Aussie BBQ lunch. We have time to relax at the Motel before we head out for a special Dinner, al fresco on the deck at The Terraces Resort. DAY 7: Saturday 4th August, 2018 Airlie Beach Markets & Sunset Cruise We have a relaxing morning, with time to walk through the famous Airlie Beach Markets right on the beach front in town. There are plenty of souvenir shops to take that gift home with you. Stroll along the water front taking in the beautiful sights and the man made lagoon or relax around one of the two pools at the Resort. This afternoon, we enjoy a pre-dinner 2 hour Sunset Cruise, enjoying a glass of sparkling wine and nibbles. We just may see some turtles, dolphins or whales while enjoying the beautiful sunset. We return to our accommodation for dinner.

9 DAY 8: Sunday 5th August, 2018 Flight home Melbourne This morning we pack our bags after a great week in the Whitsundays. We transfer to the ferry to Hamilton Island to board our flights to Melbourne. As always our Chauffeurs await our arrival in Melbourne to transfer us home. Lunch own expense / arrangement today We trust you arrive home safely with memories of a fascinating and rewarding tour. It is also a requirement of O Shannessy s Tours that each passenger is able to negotiate coach steps without the aid of the coach crew or other passengers. Any passenger who requires assistance for any of the above is required to travel with a companion capable of providing all necessary assistance.
