1 20 DAY CANADA & ALASKA INSIDE PASSAGE CRUISE Day 1 Saturday 22 July 2017: Nowra to Sydney To assist with an early departure tomorrow morning we are headed to Sydney this afternoon depart Stuarts Coaches at 2.00pm to travel to Sydney. Accommodation will be provided at a motel near the Sydney International Airport with transfer s tomorrow morning. Hotel: Quality Inn Sydney International Airport or similar Day 2 (D) Sunday 23 July 2017: Arrive Vancouver/Victoria We have an earlier start this morning as we head over to Sydney airport for our flight to Vancouver. The direct flight departs Sydney around 10 am and arrives in Vancouver at 7.30 am local time on the same day. (Flight time 15 hours) Welcome to Vancouver! On arrival at the Vancouver International Airport meet our Local Guide and transfer by ferry to Victoria Island. Enjoy an orientation tour that introduces you to the beautiful Inner Harbour, the ornate Parliament Buildings and Bastion Square. Continue to your hotel where the rest of the afternoon is at leisure. This evening we head out for a Welcome Dinner at a local restaurant. (Meals included in flight and dinner in Victoria) Hotel: Marriott Victoria Inner Harbour or similar Day 3 (B) Monday 24 July 2017: Victoria Sightseeing and Free Time Greet the day with breakfast at Butchart Gardens, a 55-acre showcase of gorgeous floral gardens. Meet with a local representative who can answer any questions before exploring the gardens on your own. Back in Victoria enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. 2 Hotel: Marriott Victoria Inner Harbour or similar Day 4 (BD) Tuesday 25 July 2017: Victoria Kamloops This morning we return to the mainland and travel to Kamloops. Visit the British Columbia Wildlife Park, where you get a chance to view black bear, bison and many other species. This afternoon relax and enjoy the beautifully landscaped grounds of your riverside inn before enjoying dinner. (Full breakfast in hotel, lunch at own expense, dinner included tonight) Hotel: South Thompson Inn or similar Day 5 (B) Wednesday 26 July 2017: Kamloops Mount Robson Jasper Today we travel into the majestic Rocky Mountains. Stop for a knock- out view of Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. Upon arriving in Jasper, the rest of the day is at your leisure. (Full breakfast in hotel, lunch and dinner at own expense) Hotel: Lobstick Lodge or similar Day 6 (BD) Thursday 27 July 2017: Jasper Sightseeing Start the day with an interpretive walk at Maligne Canyon. Then take a private cruise to Spirit Island on Maligne Lake. The rest of the day is yours to spend in Jasper. Tonight, enjoy dinner at the hotel and then, learn all about the native wildlife during an interactive presentation by a Local Specialist. (Full breakfast in hotel, lunch at own expense, dinner included tonight) Hotel: Lobstick Lodge or similar Day 7 (B) Friday 28 July 2017: Jasper Athabasca Glacier Lake Louise Banff Travel along the stunning Icefields Parkway and ride out on the Athabasca Glacier ice sheet aboard a specially designed Ice Explorer. Travel on to Banff National Park and picturesque Lake Louise before you settle into Banff. (Full breakfast in hotel, lunch and dinner at own expense) Hotel: Rimrock Resort Banff or similar Day 8 (BD) Saturday 29 July 2017; Banff Sightseeing Immerse yourself in the glories of Banff, including Surprise Corner and Bow Falls. The rest of the day is free. After dinner we learn about the history of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police from a local specialist during our special visit tonight called Meet a Mountie. Your journey takes you through a spectacular array of scenery as you travel between the glacier and snow- capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies. 3 Day 10 (BL) Monday 31 July 2017: Kamloops - Rocky Mountaineer Vancouver Your journey continues west towards the Pacific Ocean and the coastal city of Vancouver. On today s journey you will again see dramatic changes in scenery, from the desert-like environment of the interior, through winding river canyons and pristine forests, to the Coast and Cascade Mountains and the lush green fields of the Fraser River Valley. Your rail journey ends on arrival in Vancouver this evening and we are transferred to our hotel for the next 2 nights. (Full breakfast in hotel, lunch included on board Rocky Mountaineer, dinner at own expense) Hotel: Vancouver Marriott Downtown or similar Day 11 (BD) Tuesday 1 August 2017: Vancouver Sightseeing Today s sightseeing includes Stanley Park to view First Nations Totem Poles then explore Chinatown and Gastown. The rest of the day is at leisure. Perhaps visit the Capilano Suspension bridge or explore the many food stalls on Granville Island. This evening we enjoy a Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant. (Full breakfast in hotel, lunch at own expense, dinner included tonight) Hotel: Vancouver Marriott Downtown or similar Day 12 (BD) Wednesday 2 August 2017: Vancouver Inside Passage Cruise Following breakfast we have a little time before check out, then we transfer to the Vancouver Cruise Terminal to board your Holland America Inside Passage Alaska Cruise. Dinner and all meals served on board. (Full breakfast in hotel, lunch at own expense, dinner included on cruise) Day 13 (BLD) Thursday 3 August 2017: Inside Passage Cruising With most of Southeast Alaska accessible only by boat or plane cruise the Inside Passage for a unique view. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner served on board cruise) Day 14 (BLD) Friday 4 August 2017: Tracy Arm and Juneau The dramatic Sawyer Glaciers at the end of Tracy Arm are framed by mountains and bathed in the blue hue of the ice. Arrive in Juneau, where you can shop downtown, kayak, dogsled, raft, or sightsee. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner served on board cruise) Day 15 (BLD) Saturday 5 August2017: Skagway, Alaska Step into the town's colourful past at the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park. Ketchikan offers a great opportunity to see Black Bears in the wild and Wild Salmon returning to spawn in huge numbers. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner served on board cruise) Day 18 (BLD) Tuesday 8 August 2017: Inside Passage Cruising Today is a day of relaxation as you cruise back to Vancouver. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner served on board cruise) Day 19 (B) Wednesday 9 August 2017: Cruise returns and Fly Home Sail into Vancouver Harbour this morning. After disembarking we are transferred to the airport for our flights back to Sydney. (Breakfast served on board cruise, lunch and dinner at own expense) Day 20 Thursday 10 August 2017: Lost in Transit (meals served in flight) Day 21 Friday 11 August 2017: Arrive Home Our flight arrives back in Sydney early morning and we are met by our Stuarts Coach and transferred home.
