1 June edition: Santos and ConocoPhillips agreement with SK E&S, Gearing Up Local Business for Major Projects Expo, Ichthys, Shell Prelude FLNG, ERA Ranger, Western Desert Resources Roper Bar Iron Ore Project, Darwin Prison, Casuarina Square Expansion, SIHIP, Upcoming NTG Tenders, 2012 APPEA National Oil and Gas Workforce Development & Productivity Conference, Safe Work Australia, Stats, THE Mining. Welcome The recent visit by McDermott project management working on their Ichthys subsea package highlights a couple of issues for the NT. Firstly, the joint delegation run by the NT Government, NT Manufacturers and the ICN (NT) to the McDermott facility in Singapore highlighted the importance for taking our case for greater involvement to the source. This visit prompted them to take a far greater interest in what Darwin has to offer. Once they were here and took in the broader picture of the available infrastructure, they were willing to look at things again from a practical logistics point of view. The proof will be in the pudding, but Darwin stands to get significantly more work out of this component of the project than it otherwise would because it stands up from both a cost and logistical perspective.
