The Australian Government has been proactive in attracting new entrants in order to take advantage of their globally-tested technical skills and know-how. This, in turn, has had a favourable outcome in terms of enhancing competition to the benefit of taxpayers. Spanish companies have had a leading role in this process and are successfully contributing to the development of major infrastructure projects. This session will address the Australian Government s view on the infrastructure industry, its perception of the competition climate and its expectations of newcomers, particularly, Spanish companies.
