Newcrest does not offer a defined benefits pan to empoyees. The oca eve government and the andowners association are in dispute over the management of royaties, and it is being managed through a forma dispute resoution process chaired by the Minera Resource Authority (MRA). 2. LMALA raised a dispute over the eve of funding for the LMALA Administration budget, and the budget avaiabe for preparations for the Lihir Agreements Review. This ed to the cosure of the mine for two days in September The Putput community raised a dispute over issues reated to impacts from the mine, incompete community projects, and participation in the Lihir Agreements Review. This ed to the cosure of the mine for two days in January The Lihir operation is subject to a number of agreements with oca andowners, which agreements cover (among other things) compensation and other benefits. The Lihir agreements are subject to periodic review, with an ongoing review at the time of this report. In the context of the current review, the Company and andowners have outined matters that they woud ike addressed within the review, incuding the impementation of projects under the agreements, compensation payments (incuding distribution of benefits among andowners), the impacts of the mine and the impact of certain practices on the mine operations. These matters wi be advanced as part of the ongoing Lihir agreements review. 5. The dispute is reated to and of the NHM operation that was caimed to beong to the Pagu tribe. 6. As in FY2012, the andowners as represented by the TNLC raised a number of concerns associated with past and current exporation impacts and a number of reated issues. 7. Peacefu protest turned into a poice issue when many of the disputants ocked WGJV staff and contractors in the camp and refused to foow poice instructions to reease those hed captive.
