2 SEARCH AND RESCUE INFORMATION - WEEKLY PERIOD: 2 APR 18 TO 8 APR 18 DATE/TIME INCIDENT # EMBC REGION INCIDENT ELT/ #VICTIMS # EMBC VOL LOCATED ALIVE DEAD NO COMMENTS 02 04: : : : : : : : : : : UPDATE 04 22: SWE LAND Mission SAR members responded to rescue 3 teens who drove to Kenyon Lake outside Mission and became stuck, due to weather. The SAR team was stood down when the subjects, self rescued. SWE LAND Pemberton SAR and 1 Whistler SAR member responded to investigate a SOS spot beacon near Mount Duke Tom Hut in Pemberton. SAR was stood down as it was determined that the beacon was mistakenly activated. SWE LAND Squamish SAR members responded to rescue an injured female on the third peak of the Chief. The subject was accessed via helicopter and taken to hospital for treatment CTL LAND Princeton SAR members responded to locate a missing or overdue skier on Hornet Lake Road north of Princeton. SAR was stood down when the subject was located, alive and well in the family cabin. NWE Masset SAR responded to locate 3 overdue boaters in the Collison Point area. SAR was stood down prior to call out, when the subjects were located, in good condition. SWE LAND North Shore Rescue members responded to search for 2 missing hikers on Mt. Fromme in North Vancouver. The subjects were located, cold and wet, but in good condition. SEA LAND Columbia Valley SAR members responded to rescue a 49 year old male, experiencing shortness of breath at the Assiniboine lodge near Invermere. The subject was transported via helicopter to hospital in Canmore. SEA LAND Golden and District SAR members responded to rescue an injured skier in the Chatter Creek Lodge area. The subject was picked up and turned over to BCAS for treatment. VIR LAND PEMO SAR members responded to locate a despondent teen near Centennial Park in Saanich. The subject was located, alive and well by the police. SEA LAND Columbia Valley SAR members responded to search for two missing skiers near Panorama Ski Resort. The SAR team was stood down, after the skiers made it out to safety on the own. CTL LAND Kamloops SAR members responded to continue the search for a missing male after RCMP received new tips/leads. Nothing was located and SAR was stood down. SWE LAND Whistler SAR members responded to search for two missing skiers on Blackcomb Mountain. SAR successfully located the skiers and they were brought out to safety by helicopter :02 SEA LAND Golden SAR members responded to Parks

3 Canada request for mutual aid, they requested Golden SAR's CARDA dog for a reported avalanche in the Lake Louise area of Banff Park. On arrival at the avalanche it was found that there were 3 people involved 2 buried to waist and 1 down 2 meters. All three were rescued and transferred by ambulance : : : : : : : : : : : WEEK TOTAL SWE LAND Surrey SAR responded to look for a missing 83 year old male near Cedar Hills in Surrey. The subject was found in Delta in good condition, by RCMP. VIR LAND Cowichan Valley SAR member responded to locate an Alzheimer's patient who wandered away from Charlotte road in Duncan. The subject was found by RCMP, not long after. CTL Penticton Marine Rescue members responded to rescue a subject who was in distress in Okanagan Lake, near Penticton. The subject was a triathlete, and was training. NEA LAND Robson Valley and Prince George SAR members responded to rescue an injured snowmobiler near Mount Ruth, McBride. The subject was picked up and turned over to Alberta Emergency Medical Services. SWE Coquitlam SAR members are responded to investigate an overturned kayak and life jacket spotted drifting on the Coquitlam River. The search was closed when it was determined no one was missing. SWE LAND Powell River SAR responded to locate two lost hikers in contact by cellphone in the Sarah Road area. The subjects were brought out and taken to their vehicle. VIR LAND Cowichan Valley SAR member responded to locate a 41 year old male involved in an ATV accident near highway 18. The SAR team was stood down when the subject was rescued by friends. NWE LAND Terrace SAR members responded to locate a possible bridge jumper on the Skeena Bridge. The subject was transferred to RCMP for assessment SWE LAND Central Fraser Valley SAR and Mission SAR members responded to recover a possible bridge jumper. The subject was talked down off the bridge by the RCMP. VIR LAND Juan de Fuca SAR members responded to locate a missing 35 year old female in the Sooke area. The RCMP suspended the search, after a day of searching turned up nothing. NWE LAND Terrace SAR members responded to locate a missing male last known to be 70 km west of Terrace. The subject was not located and SAR was stood down, pending further RCMP involvement. SWE LAND North Shore Rescue members responded to rescue a missing hiker believe to be on or around Dreamweaver Trail on MT Fromme. The subjects were located and hiked out on their own ELT - 0

5 WEEKLY INCIDENT REPORT Month; Apr 02 8, 2018 BODY RECOVERY On 08 April 18, West Kelowna RCMP requested Central Okanagan Regional District SAR assist with the recovery of a body on the Smith Creek bike trails in West Kelowna. ENVIRONMENTAL On 03 April 18, the City of Kelowna opened an incident in support of a business that had been affected by a landslide on Knox Mountain. On 04 April 18, the town of Merritt requested a task number to supply citizens with sandbags and sand to prepare for potential flooding in the Nicola River area of the community. On 04 April 18, the Central Okanagan Regional District (CORD) requested a task number for freshet flooding occurring within the CORD.
