I estimated the vehicle to be traveling at about 40 mph. I used laser unit TS to perform a speed check and found the vehicle to be traveling at 42 mph. I initiated a traffic stop and advised the driver Ms. Gallaher why I had stopped her. Ms. Gallaher advised she she was late for dinner. Ms. Gallaher was cited for speed.i had good tracking no interference and a calibration check was done at about 1550 hrs. I used laser unit TS to perform a speed check and found the vehicle to be traveling as fast as 42 mph with the last check being 40 mph. I initiated a traffic stop and advised the driver Mr. Emch why I had stopped him. Mr. Emch advised he was sorry and that he was home visiting but had forgotten how to get to Mr. Freeze. I returned to Mr. Emch with a citation. Mr. Emch became upset and stated the following "You guys make it not fun to come home. I wasn't doing anything wrong. What happened to giving a good samaritan a break? and I was trying to come here and spend money in your city." I did not respond to Mr. Emch's statements or questions. I asked Mr. Emch to please drive safely and returned to my patrol vehicle.i had good tracking no interference and a calibration check was done at about 1550 hrs. Approximately 200 feet south of the intersection Davidson failed to stop for stopped traffic ahead of her colliding into the rear of of a 2000 Chevy Tahoe. The operator of the Tahoe 80 year-old Don Ward had stopped for stopped traffic ahead of him. No injuries were reported. Davidson was cited for Assured Clear Distance ( A ORC).
