The vehicle shut its lights off a short time later. I approached the vehicle and identified the driver as Megan Hirzel. Hirzel advised she was driving around to "clear her head" when she realized she was low on fuel so she decided to park her vehicle. Hirzel left the area. No further action taken. The Pontiac appeared to be traveling faster than the posted 40mph speed limit. I checked the speed of the Pontiac with the Laser unit #UX and it showed 58mph at 240.6ft. Calibration was checked at approximately 0015 hours. I then initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as Timothy Hahn. When I asked Hahn if he knew why I stopped him, he replied he was "speeding a little". Hahn was issued a citation for Speed, 58mph in a 40mph zone (ORC B(MM)) and given a non-mandatory court date of June 19, 2012 at 4:45pm at Perrysburg Municipal Court. I observed a dark colored station wagon traveling N on SR 25 in the passing lane at what appeared to be over the posted speed limit of 40 mph. I estimated the vehicle to be traveling at about 55 mph. I used laser unit TS to perform a speed check and found the vehicle to be traveling as fast as 57 mph with the last check being 56 mph. The vehicle passed me and I observed a female driver that appeared to be talking on a cell phone. I initiated a traffic stop and advised the driver why I was stopping her. The driver, Ms. Coleman stated she was not paying attention. I asked her if she had been talking on a phone and she stated yes. Ms. Coleman asked if she could get a warning. I advised her she would be receiving a citation. Ms. Coleman was cited for speed.i had good tracking, no interference, and a calibration check was done at about 1525 hrs. I estimated the vehicle to be traveling at about 45 mph. I used laser unit TS to perform a speed check on the vehicle and found it to be traveling at 42 mph. I initiated traffic stop and advised the driver, Ms. Stratton, why I had stopped her. Ms. Stratton seemed shocked and surprised when I told her the speed limit was only 25 mph and apologized. Ms. Stratton was cited for speed.i had good tracking, no interference, and a calibration check was done at about 1525 hrs. A vehicle driven by Nicholas Clemons was behind Ms. Broderick's vehicle. A vehicle driven by Laurie Morbitzer was behind Mr. Clemons's vehicle. Ms. Morbitzer struck Mr. Clemons's vehicle in the rear end which caused Mr. Clemons's vehicle to strike Ms. Broderick's vehicle in the rear end. There was minor damage to all three vehicles and no injuries reported. Ms. Morbitzer was cited for assured clear distance.
