The new appointed Safety Chairman is Lee Coppage; Trophy Chairman - John Gutherie (Guppy) and Remembrance Chairman - Gert Leible. Please give all these people your help and support. This year will bring us new beginnings. Our new officers are eager to serve the club and willing to work to make it great for us now and in the future. Our Adopt-A-Ranch will have taken place by the time this issue goes to press. From the show of hands it looks as though this year's turnout will be a good one. This is very important for our club to promote good will, for the J-Bar-B Ranch and the Forest Service. Remember our club is only as good as we make it! We have new trip leaders and new officers, let us give them our support! See you on the trail, Darrel REMEMBER WHEN? 30 years ago The April 1980 Horn mentioned that the Executive Board (which we had then) was scheduled at the Willamson's home. Officers were listed as President-Dick Williamson; Vice President-Bob Harroun; Recording Secretary-Shirley Clarkin; Corrisponding Secretar-Geneva Williamson; Treasurer-Walt Jenkins; Editor-Kathy Hatcher; and standing committee were up for acceptance!. Fun Days registration for members was $1:00 that included a dinner and drink. Dates; April 25th, 26th & 27th. A report by Bob & Val Harroun was written about the Tierra Del Sol Safari. I believe the first Lifetime Members were John & Hannah Kodatts during April AZ LONGSHOREMAN TRIP REPORTS Fun Days 2010 Fun Days Chairman: "Bronco" Clete Hruska, Date: March 19 th, 20 th & 21 st. This year's Fun Days was held once again at the "Two Flying Cowboys" off Cottonwood Canyon Road, near Mineral Mountain, south of Florence Junction. Our host, ranch manager Bob Church, made us feel right at home and even found time to take part in some of the activities.

2 Fun Days 2010 (CONTINUED) Darrel & Deb Wallace took charge of the games again this year and did a wonderful job. By the look on Mike & Linda Dreckman's grandson's face, these were very competitive youngsters! Deb was in charge of the kids games. They had just as much fun or more than the adults. Deb did a great job making sure none of them were left out of the fun. Wendi & Jim Kawa once again provided the musical entertainment. Wendi had a range of musical favorites to please everyone. She kept the music playing throughout Friday and Saturday evening. This little girl with the help from Deb, tries her luck at getting the ball to land into one of the colored water bowls, to win a prize. Lori Moore took charge of keeping track of the vendors who donated raffle prizes. Again, one of this year's most generous contributers was Desert Rat, wth support from VIAIR and Bulldog Winch.

3 Fun Days 2010 (CONTINUED) This year Clete and Randi Hruska took charge of putting together our 43rd Annual Fun Days event. You can tell by these photos just how well they did! Bev, Lee & Sami & I get the opportunity this year to entertain Tim, from Desert Rat and Bob from Bulldog Wench by taking them on a Saturday morning run up the Roller Coasters. Tim's TJ with its 5.7 liter, Hemi, long arm suspension and 39" tires was more than able to keep up with us. With all that power under the hood, he nearly made it all the way to the top of the Roller Coasters in 2-wheeldrive! For the second year in a row Walter and Gert Lieble not only contributed the food for the main courses, but cooked it up too! The club is very fortunate and honored to have these delicious dishes prepared professionally. Coming back down the Roller Coasters, looking south towards Tucson. Lori Moore along with the rest of us has been looking forward to this feast all day long (Free range chicken breast infused with rosemary; fusili pasta with Italian sausage; meat loaf with mushroom sauce and mashed potatoes). There was more than enough for everyone; even after having seconds, nearly half still remained.

4 Fun Days 2010 (CONTINUED) Nate VanKeuren is over joyed by the sight of all the delicious food and deserts spread out along the tables. During dinner time, you could not find anyone without a smile on their face as they enjoyed every bite! One of the founders of the Mesa 4 Wheelers, Willard Kodatt, with his sons Melvin and WJ. It has been a number of years since we have had the pleasure of their company. We look forward to seeing more of them in the future. During the evening award ceremonies, Deb made sure that every child was awarded a ribbon with the M4W pendant along with a stuffed animal for their efforts. Ranch manager, Bob Church, joins Bill & Amy and the rest of us in chowing down on one of the best meals ever! Bill doing what he does best, entertaining the audience!

5 Fun Days 2010 (CONTINUED) Rory Moore, in his TJ driving up the first waterfall. Club president, Darrel Wallace in his CJ5 on Sunday's Upper Woodpecker run. At the half way point Lee pulls the group over for a lunch break. Jim Kawa, in his Suzuki, Samuri taking on the first of four waterfalls along Upper Woodpecker. This year Doc Staff's health was much improved and he was able to ride with us on Sunday's run. Whenever we get the opportunity to have Doc join us on a trail, every one wants to be included in his photo! Nate VanKeuren in his '66 Ford Bronco working his way up the first waterfall.

6 Fun Days 2010 (CONTINUED) The last couple of years Rory had to miss out on Fun Days because of his busy schedule. We missed him and were happy to see him doing what he enjoys most, wheeling with the M4W's! Nate, Judi, Randi & Clete soaking in the Arizona winter weather! Long time members Ray & Pat helped out Doc this year with the delivery of the camp porta-potties and later lent a hand in camp cleanup on Monday morning. Without members like them, the Mesa 4-Wheelers would not exist! I had the privilege of having Doc as my passenger during our run through Upper Woodpecker. When ever the Hutcheson family shows up, we know we are in for some thrilling entertainment! All along the trail, Richard would aim his Chevy V8 powered Toyota Landcruiser towards the most challenging obstacles. He would always prevail while providing us with plenty of excitement! Richard and his son Mark lead the Friday night run and did a wonderful job. Starting at around 8:30, the run lasted until 11:00. Bev, Lee & Sami, were this year's trip leaders. Lee let Sami drive All along the route there were plenty of large rocks to contend with which kept everyone on their toes! the entire trail and she did a superb job! Another successful Fun Days that left everyone looking forward to next year's 44th annual!

It will be more secluded and we should have the area to ourselves most of the weekend. We still plan to go down the beach to the second lighthouse, spend time exploring the nearby sand dunes etc. We plan to take all our food and supplies this time. El Golfo is close enough to go for ice and other needed supplies. Rocky Point is about 1 ½ hours by the new road if someone wants to go there for a day.
