Happy Holidays members! MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR THE NEXT MEETING Sunday December 10 Christmas Party at the Oasis 4-8 PM. President's Message Getting ready for the Holidays is a big deal. So much to do and buying gifts for family members especially grand children. Things cost so much more than they use to in reflection of the "Good Ole Days." But that's progress, as you well know. There is so much comparison to the old days on the internet. But we are past that now and nothing we can do about that, as Forrest Gump would say. So here we are at the end of another year. Reflecting back over this past year our Club has been pretty busy with many activities under our belt. Members made plans for us and many of us went along for the cruises and tours. Looking back as we were reminiscing through the pictures that we took brought a lot of smiles and memories for me & Kay. From taking road trips to different towns, visiting wineries, checking out historical sites, cruising in our Chevy's to Arkansas to see the Hot Springs, or cruising to Top Notch for Burgers or even donating to Charities... we enjoy the time together. It will not stop here though, this new year we will continue to stay active as a Club. I'm quite sure that you are thinking of what you can do to form a gathering for us all to enjoy. It really is not hard to do. So many places in Austin and the surrounding areas to go visit. Many of the historical & governmental museums and galleries in and around Austin would make great day trips for us. In a short time we will be attending our Annual Holiday Dinner at the Oasis. Looks like we will be having a great turn out again. Kathy & her team made our plans and the schedule is full. With the 1

2 new officers elected to serve our Club and provide positive leadership we should be in good hands. Dan Members, At our meeting last week we talked about the upcoming show LS 36 in Dallas. I mentioned that they always judge and was quite sure they were again even though we haven't heard yet. Well I'm sure glad that no one took me up on the $20 offer I proposed as I contacted David Graves about judging at Lone Star 36. Here is his response back to me... This is good news... "Dan - We will not be 'judging' the cars. There will be favorite picks similar to the club pick awards. We will have a 'Top 25' of the show. We will develop a committee or panel of folks to administer this program as we get closer. Look for more details soon. thanks David " Club Minutes from November 17, 2017 CTCCC Meeting Minutes: Dan opened the meeting with a welcome to members & special welcome to Pam & Tom Porter's daughter Cindy & granddaughter Morgan. October minutes were approved as presented in the newsletter. Kay Bowen gave our treasurer's report. It was approved as presented. Dan presented wellness report. Our best wishes for full recovery for all. Lone Star 36 is scheduled for May 25th thru May 27th, 2018, in Dallas. More details to follow. Past & future activities were discussed. Several members signed up to schedule & host a monthly club activity. Members wanting club jackets can find them at JCP, they are London Fog & sell for $ Dan called for volunteers to oversee/coordinate Wellness, Activities & Scholarship Fund. Cindi Lambert will fill the wellness position. Anyone interested in filling one of the others please contact Dan Bowen. 2

Frame up restoration late 90's Paint is the original color, Matador Red (single stage paint) Paint is perfect This car is a Texas Car that had very little rust when it went in for bodywork and paint. The car is currently in Resto-Mod form, body remains stock in appearance with upgrades for safety and comfort as listed in the follow outline: Kim Barr built, 350cu in+ with 4-bolt mains, bored.060 over with 9.5:1 compression ratio, double bump heads are used with Edelbrock Carb and High Raise Manifold with MSD Distributor and Coil. Sanderson Headers and Custom Exhaust system, Griffin aluminum radiator with dual fans and 5

built in condenser for air conditioning upgrade. March Serpentine kit is installed that includes air conditioning compressor, power steering pump, and alternator.

Wheels are 15" American Mags. The front brakes are up graded to Disc and rear brakes are standard drum. The car when first restored, was to all original.

All that is needed for completion of the AC System is the under dash portion. Transmission is rebuilt 700R4 with Corvette shift kit and B&M Shifter. Stock 355 ratio rear end is used.
