Colorado Chapter Meeting in April In April a bunch of Colorado Pontiacer met at Bill Arnold shop, Mountain High Performance in Arvada. Bill provided burritos, doughnuts and coffee and we sat down and talked about cars and engines and whatever people wanted to discuss. It was a great get together and enjoyable for all. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm by President Dick Thompson. Officers in attendance were Dick Thompson, President; Tom Mansfield, 1st V.P; Samantha Baker, 2nd V.P.; Dick Fritz, secretary; and Tom Kay, treasurer. 23 member clubs were represented; one individual member and one associate member were in attendance. Dick thanked the Colorado Springs clubs and particularly John Mack for hosting this meeting. Due to a scheduling mixup, the meeting had to be moved to another room in the Station, and we appreciate the police officers making this possible. Legislative: Leo Boyle was unable to attend as the Colorado Legislature was debating the budget which is always a long and draw out affair. There was no news about bills that are of interest to the Council. Minutes of the March 7th meeting were approved as published.

3 Treasurer s Report: Treasurer Tom Kay reported balances as of the end of February: Operating Account: $ Govt.Relations Account: $ Havana Cruise Account: $ 0.00 Swap Meet Account: $ 0.00 Total, All Accounts: $ Reserve: $ Total: $ Tom announced and thanked 15 more clubs and one more individual for their 2018 renewals.. Swap Meet & Car Show: August 4th. The CCCC swap meet is definitely scheduled for Saturday, August 4th at Rocky Mountain Metro Airport (formerly Jeffco Airport) and there will be a CCCC-sponsored car show collocated with the swap meet. We expect to need about 100 volunteers to help put on the event. The Early Mustang Club will move their traditional Horsefeathers show to the airport on that date. The airport is actively promoting the event as a Ground and Air Show. If successful, we hope to have a 5-year contract to establish a reliable date and location. Havana Cruise: June 9th. Dick Thompson reported that the Stampede Restaurant location will not be used this year due to construction and the Havana Exchange site at 2822 S. Havana will be used instead. The Gibby s site at 1555 S. Havana will feature the NAPA Show Trailer. The Havana Machine Shop at 800 S. Havana will be the third site. There will be entertainment at all sites. The Poker Run first prize will again be a 5 day ocean cruise with second prize being a mechanic s tool cabinet. Volunteers from many clubs have stepped in to manage festival sites and traffic control. The Cruise will run noon to 6 pm with poker run winners announced at 6 pm. Forney Museum Support: Tony & Ivy Richards reissued the challenge from the MOPAR clubs to match their $300 donations to assist the Forney Museum. It has been proposed that a donation from CCCC be included in the 2019 budget. The Forney has a new feature highlighting cars of the 1930s SEMA Show 2018: Again this year SEMA is offering members of CCCC clubs the opportunity to attend the show in Las Vegas Oct.30-Nov.2, free of charge. The requirements are: (1) membership in a current club affiliated with CCCC, (2) membership in the on-line SEMA Action Network (to join: sema/san.com/join); (3) be 16 years of age or older. Anyone

4 wishing to attend should notify the CCCC secretary no later than August 31. Don Reinke: Don is still in need of a donor kidney but he seems to be in good spirits, despite having had open heart surgery in addition to his kidney failure. Junior League: Wendy Love has requested a classic pickup truck (50 s or 60 s) for an event in mid May. Her contact is wendy.love@nccmedia.com. Encouraging young people to join the hobby: The high prices commanded by publicized auctions are one factor in dissuading young people from taking up car collecting. On the other hand, the amounts of money being spent on high performance tuner cars indicate that money may not be the only element. It was suggested that clubs holding events actively encourage young people to participate. More Happenings: The Latest Scoop.) Falls, sponsored by Colo. Springs Rod & Custom July: Buffalo Bill Days(3 or 4 convertibles needed for parade), car Show on the 29th. Next Meeting: Wednesday, May 2, at The Rambler Ranch, Forest Trail, Elizabeth, Colorado. This meeting will be preceded with a meal catered by Famous Dave s provided by Mecum Auctions at 6 pm. There will be time for a brief tour of the Rambler Ranch s eclectic collection of vehicles, mostly but not exclusively Nashes. Since the food has to be ordered, it is essential that attendees RSVP to the CCCC phone number ( ) no later than April 30th. The meeting was adjourned at 8:42 pm. The car followed me later with no place to work on it. It all followed me back to Longmont, CO in 1996 and has just been sitting under cover in my garage ever since. Never had place, time, or motivation to finish it. Engine, transmission, front suspension all rebuilt. Body work and paint was done in I have something like $13K of 1990 dollars invested in it with quite a way to go yet. A re-assembly challenges. I think I still have all the parts but no guarantee. Car Shows since April 1, 2017: The Colorado Chapter co-hosted a Pontiac- Oldsmobile-Buick-Cadillac show. Chapter operated the food concession at the Front Range Aircraft/Car Show and Swap Meet at the Front Range Airport in Watkins, CO. The Colorado Chapter continued its active support of the Collector Car Council of Colorado with participation of the membership and financial support. The Colorado Chapter was a co-host of a festival site at the Cruzin Havana event. The Colorado Chapter gave financial support to local charities.
