44 SPRC: Changes Made to Date - Overview Architecture Academic Office Revised the roof top element to incorporate a perforated metal panel sunshade and metal canopy that overhangs the penthouse and down the south façade. Added blue accent lighting in roof top canopy Moved penthouse back an additional 3 from south façade (5 total set-back) Revised design of west façade to incorporate elements from the east façade and to recall elements of the original Blue Goose building west facade Added articulation to north façade at garage exhaust shaft and louver to incorporate Terra Cotta baguettes Revised the first floor plan to get retail space at the SE corner and a service corridor connecting it to the loading dock. Created new retail entry on Fairfax Drive with blue metal façade panels and canopy for the Blue Goose Café Shared concept for the Blue Goose Café interior. Added blue spandrel glass band at second floor slab. Residential Moved Vehicular entry from N. Glebe to Wakefield (thus losing parking spaces) Added Retail (thus having to move residential lobby entry and reducing number of dwelling units) Moved building 5-0 west to open view corridor to corner (thus reducing courtyard space for residents) MARYMOUNT UNIVERSITY BALLSTON CENTER 28 October 2013 SPRC #5 44

45 SPRC: Changes Made to Date - Overview (Continued) Landscape Corner plaza re-conceptualized from a series of modular bioretention planters with seat walls (SPRC 1) to landscape panels (SPRC 2). Corner plaza refinement of landscape panels, including introduction of landforms (SPRC 3). Corner plaza re-conceptualized to include alternate pedestrian flow with diffused hardscape edge treatments (post-sprc 4). Relocation of residential garage entry from Glebe to Wakefield. Added parking spaces on Wakefield Street Introduction of Blue Goose Café seating in corner plaza. Refinement of bus shelter location (SPRC 4) and interface with shuttle stop (post-sprc 4). Refinement of grade change relative to stairs and ramps. Refinement to Pedestrian Realm definition on streetscapes. Introduction of cycle track. Incorporating additional street trees: +2 on Fairfax, +1 on Glebe (possibly an additional after yesterday), +1 on Wakefield Additional trees within site: +2 at corner of Wakefield & Fairfax, +2 at interior courtyard, +4 at corner plaza (currently).
