Market Street Washington C.H., Ohio (740) NOVEMBER NEWS Last updated 12/22/ TRAFFIC CRASH: James Robinson, of Washington CH reported he was east bound on US 35 when a coyote entered his lane of travel and was subsequently struck. Robinson s vehicle sustained functional damage but was driven from the scene. TRAFFIC CRASH: Janet Cupp, of Washington CH reported she was south bound on US 62 when her vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and into the ditch. Her vehicle sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene. DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Nolita Cannon, of Columbus reported while traveling on I-71 she became involved in a verbal dispute with another subject. Both subjects were counseled concerning adult behavior and they agreed to depart together to their destination in Cincinnati. TRAFFICKING IN DRUGS: Deputies conducted a traffic stop on U.S. 35 near the Greene County line after receiving information about possible drug activity. A K9 indicated on the vehicle and a large amount of suspected narcotics was seized DRUG ABUSE INSTRUMENTS/DRUG PARAPHERNALIA/DRUG ABUSE: Deputies responded to Hedge Ct. Jeffersonville, OH on a possible overdose. Needles and suspected narcotics were located at the residence. Investigation is pending. TRAFFIC CRASH: Joseph Madison of Washington C.H., OH was stopped at a traffic light at I- 71 south off ramp and Route 435. Ronnie Bruce of Niangua, MO was following Madison and failed to stop and struck the rear of Madison vehicle. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles sustained minor damage. Bruce was cited for ACDA. MENACING: Lisa Bice of Washington C.H., OH reported that threats were made by a known neighbor over the use of shared property. PROTECTION ORDER SERVICE: A protection order service was made on S. Hinde St
2 TRAFFIC CRASH: Termain Anderson of Shreveport, LA was traveling northbound on I-71 near Route 435 and began to change lanes. Anderson struck a vehicle driven by Amber Rea of Cincinnati, OH who was also traveling north bound. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles sustained minor damage. Anderson was cited in the crash. TRAFFIC CRASH: Glenn Ritchie of Salisbury, NC was traveling east bound on U.S. 35 near Route 435 off ramp. Ritchie fell asleep and traveled off the right side of the roadway traveling over an embankment. No injuries were reported. The vehicle sustained moderate damage. Ritchie was cited in the crash. TRAFFIC CRASH: David Hagler of Washington CH, OH was traveling southbound in the 4000 block of Route 41 when Hagler traveled off the right side of the roadway striking a mailbox. No injuries were reported. The vehicle sustained minor damage. DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Deputies were dispatched to Main St., Good Hope to a domestic incident. Upon the completion of their investigation it was determined that no violence or threats of violence occurred. FIRE: Deputies were dispatched to the 7000 block of Route 41 south to a structure fire. Wayne Twp responded and extinguished the fire. THEFT: Cora Pollard of Bloomingburg, OH reported known persons were at her residence and after leaving discovered money missing. Investigation is pending TRAFFIC CRASH: Edward Bristel of Marion, OH was traveling east on Route 734 and stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Route 38. Bristel entered onto Route 38 in the path of Briana Lascari of Washington C.H., OH. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage. Bristel was cited in the crash. DOMESTIC DISUTE: Deputies were dispatched to Janes St in Jeffersonville, OH on a domestic incident. Upon the completion of their investigation it was determined that no violence or threats of violence occurred. CRASH: James Stroker III of Greenfield, OH was traveling north on Route 753 and began to enter the intersection of U.S. 22. Kristin Rothacher of Hamilton, OH was traveling west on U.S. 22 and ran a stop sign striking Stoker s vehicle in the intersection. Minor injuries were reported. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage. Rotheracher was cited for fail to yield B&E/THEFT: Roger Shelpman of South Solon, OH reported that person(s) unknown entered his garage and removed tools. TRAFFIC CRASH: Jason Humphries of Washington C.H., OH was traveling southbound on Route 35 near Creek Rd and traveled off the left side of the roadway negotiating a curve. Humphries vehicle struck the ditch then overturned. Humphries was transported to Fayette Memorial for injuries. The vehicle sustained moderate damage. Citation is pending investigation. TELEPHONE HARASSMENT: Joseph Camp of Washington C.H., OH reported receiving unwanted messages on Facebook.
3 THEFT: Daniel Pfaff of Washington C.H., OH reported that several tools had been removed from his property from a known female. Investigation is pending DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Deputies were dispatched to Ferguson Rd on a domestic incident. Upon the completion of their investigation it was determined that no violence or threats of violence occurred B&E/THEFT: Amanda Seba Mixtega of Washington C.H., OH reported person(s) unknown entered a storage locker and removed several items. CIVIL: Deputies were dispatched to TA travel center on a dispute over payment for service completed on truck. TRAFFIC CRASH: Misti Conner of Jeffersonville, OH was traveling south on Route 41 near Upper Jamestown and struck a deer. Conner then traveled off the left side of the roadway. TRAFFIC CRASH: Peter Tront of Fairborn, OH was traveling east bound on Route 435. Tront failed to observe Demarcus Thompson of Louisville, KY stopped at the intersection of Allen Rd. Tront struck the rear of Thompson vehicle. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles sustained minor damage. Tront was cited in the crash. TRAFFIC CRASH: Alyssa D. Pettit of New Holland was traveling west on US #22 near Camp Grove Rd and struck a deer in the roadway. TRAFFIC CRASH: Tara Butler of Hillsboro was traveling west on US #35 near SR #435 and struck a deer in the roadway. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Amanda Parrett of Jeffersonville reported that she was assaulted by a family member. DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Megan Jackson of Washington Court House reported that she was involved in a verbal dispute with a family member. DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Mary D. Wilson of Mount Sterling reported that she was involved in a verbal dispute with a family member TRAFFIC CRASH: A two-vehicle crash was reported on I-71 near Milepost #71. Rong Zheng and Jun Xu of Batesville, Indiana were transported by EMS to the local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Zheng was cited for Failure to Control. CRIMINAL DAMAGING: Anna Everhart of Washington Court House reported a known person had damaged her gate at her driveway. TRAFFIC CRASH: Carol Penwell of Jeffersonville was traveling north on SR #41 near Wildwood Rd and traveled off the roadway striking the ditch. No injuries were reported. Penwell was cited for Failure to Control.
4 TRAFFIC CRASH: Shawn Munyon of Washington Court House was traveling south on SR #41 near Washington-New Martinsburg Rd and struck a deer in the roadway TRAFFIC CRASH: Kaci Goff of Jeffersonville was traveling north on SR #41NW near Civic Drive and struck a deer in the roadway. TRAFFIC CRASH: A three-vehicle crash was reported on I-71 near Milepost #71. Alexander P. Bryan of Monroe was transported by EMS to the local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Bryan was cited for Failure to Control TELEPHONE HARASSMENT/AGG MENACING: Kelsey Johnson of New Holland, OH reported she has received phone calls from a unknown person making threats of violence towards her. TRAFFIC CRASH: Jeffery Castle of Beloit, Michigan was traveling north in the block of SR #38NE when he drove off the right side of the roadway. The Castle vehicle overturned as it entered the ditch. No injuries were reported. Castle was cited for Failure to Control. TRAFFIC CRASH: Dramane Konate of Fairfield, Ohio was traveling south on I-71 near Milepost #61 and struck debris in the roadway. The vehicle sustained minor damage. No injuries were reported. DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Deputies were dispatched to the 1500 block of US #22 on a domestic incident. Upon completion of the investigation, it was determined that no physical altercation or threats of violence had occurred THEFT / CRIMINAL DAMAGING: John Berry of Grove City reported that while parked at Deer Creek, person(s) unknown removed property from his vehicle and caused damage to the automobile. B&E / THEFT: Employees of the Econo Lodge at SR #435 & I-71 reported that person(s) unknown forced entry into a vacant room and removed a television set. TRAFFIC CRASH: Kelly Hocker of Eaton was traveling west on US #35 near Milepost #7 and struck a deer in the roadway. TRAFFIC CRASH: Nathan Pendergraft of Greenfield was traveling north on Yeoman Rd and failed to stop at the posted stop sign at the intersection of Bloomingburg-New Holland Rd. Pendergraft struck the ditch and continued into a field. Pendergraft was transported from the scene to Fayette County Memorial Hospital for medical treatment. The crash remains under investigation. DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Deputies were dispatched to Woodsview Square in Jeffersonville on a domestic incident. Upon completion of the investigation, no signs of an assault were observed. Both parties involved in the dispute declined to cooperate with deputies
5 DRUG ABUSE: The Fayette County Sheriff s Office received a call of a possible overdose in a vehicle on Old Route #35. Deputies located the vehicle and the occupant was transported to the Fayette County Memorial Hospital for treatment. TRAFFIC CRASH: Lillian Collins of Hillsboro was traveling south on US #62 near Jamison Rd and traveled off the right side of the roadway into a ditch. No injuries were reported. Collins was cited for Failure to Control TELECOMMUNICATIONS HARASSMENT / MENACING: Cammy Brown of Washington Court House reported receiving unwanted and threatening text messages from a known person. TRAFFIC CRASH: Lisa Birchfield of Greenfield was traveling north on US #62NE near SR #38 and failed to observe a vehicle stopped in traffic to make a left turn. Birchfield struck the rear of the vehicle operated by Anthony Galyon of Washington Court House. Birchfield was cited for ACDA. TRAFFIC CRASH: Terry Meredith of Greenfield was traveling north on SR#41SE and struck a deer in the roadway. TRAFFIC CRASH: Dan Strong of Dayton was traveling east on US #35 near I-71 and struck a deer in the roadway. TRAFFIC CRASH: John Brandt of Dayton was traveling east on SR #435 and stopped at a traffic light at the I-71 South intersection. Robert Sherwood of Newark was also traveling east and failed to observe Brandt stopped at the traffic signal. Sherwood struck the rear of the Brandt vehicle. No injuries were reported. Sherwood was cited for ACDA. TRAFFIC CRASH: James Stoner of Piketon was traveling west on US #35 near Bush Rd and traveled off the left side of the roadway. Stoner overcorrected and traveled off the right side of the roadway where his vehicle overturned. No injuries were reported. Stoner was cited for Failure to Control. THEFT: An employee of Flying J reported that an unknown male removed a jacket from a shelf and departed the business without making payment TRAFFIC CRASH: Holly Clay of Greenfield was traveling east in the 1300 block of Miami Trace Rd and struck a deer in the roadway. TRAFFIC CRASH: Elizabeth Smithson of Leesburg was traveling north on US #62SW near Greenfield-Sabina Rd and struck a deer in the roadway. THEFT: Brett Knisley of Jeffersonville reported a known person removed items from his residence. DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Danny R. Collins of Washington Court House was arrested for Disorderly Conduct after receiving an anonymous complaint that Collins was publicly intoxicated and unable to care for himself
6 DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Sheriff s deputies responded to Main St in Good Hope on a domestic violence complaint. Dorothy Mann reported she was assaulted by known male subject. Mann was arrested and transported to Fayette County Jail. CRIMINAL DAMAGING: Sheriff s deputies responded to Staunton Sugar Grove Rd on reports of several mail boxes that had been damaged sometime overnight TRAFFIC CRASH: Dawn Wooley of Jamestown, Oh was traveling north on IR 71 and struck a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. The vehicle sustained heavy damage in the crash and was towed from the scene. TRAFFIC CRASH: Matthew Gray of Greenfield was traveling south on SR 753 in the right lane of travel. Devin Schott of Hillsboro was also traveling south on SR 753 in the left lane of travel. Gray failed to observe Schott and attempted to make a lane change into the left lane striking Schott s vehicle. No injuries were reported. Gray was cited for Failure to Stay in Marked Lanes. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Sheriff s deputies responded to Main Street in the Village of Good Hope on a domestic violence complaint. Dorothy Mann reported she was assaulted by a family member. Cary Mann was arrested and charged in the incident and transported to the Fayette County Jail. CRIMINAL DAMAGING: Sheriff s deputies responded to Staunton-Sugar Grove Rd on reports of several mailboxes that were damaged during the overnight hours. CRIMINAL SIMULATION: The Fayette County Bureau of Motor Vehicles reported that an unknown person used a counterfeit bill to make a purchase. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: John Langley of Washington Court House reported that person(s) unknown damaged his mailbox TRAFFIC CRASH: Logan Blackburn of Columbus was traveling south in the 9000 block of US #62NE and attempted to overtake another southbound vehicle. Blackburn failed to maintain an assured clear distance ahead, striking a vehicle operated by Christina Gustin of Washington Court House in the rear. Both vehicles suffered moderate damage in the crash and no injuries were reported. Blackburn was cited for No OL and ACDA. TRAFFIC CRASH: Dawn Wooley of Jamestown was traveling north on I-71 and struck a deer in the roadway. TRAFFIC CRASH: Matthew Gray of Greenfield was traveling south on SR #753 in the right lane of travel. Devin Schott of Hillsboro was also traveling south on SR #753 in the left lane of travel. Gray failed to observe Schott and attempted to make a lane change where a collision occurred. Gray was cited for Failure to Drive within Marked Lanes THEFT: Sandra Long of Bloomingburg reported that merchandise delivered to her residence by the US Postal Service was removed from her mailbox.
7 UNRULY JUVENILE: Staff at the Ranch of Opportunity reported that three juveniles had fled from the facility on foot. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the juveniles. The juveniles were entered missing in the LEADS database. TRAFFIC CRASH: Drew Linz of Blanchester was traveling east on US #22SW near Cline Rd and failed to observe traffic stopped for construction workers. Linz struck the rear of a stopped semi-tractor trailer operated by Stephen Conrad of Carry, North Carolina. No injuries were reported. Linz was cited for ACDA CRIMINAL TRESPASS: Mandy Dozier of Good Hope reported that a known person was trespassing on her property. Derek J. Honacher of Washington Court House was charged in the incident. CRIMINAL DAMAGING: Daniel Hurles of Washington Court House reported that person(s) unknown caused damage to his vehicle during the overnight hours B&E / CRIMINAL DAMAGING: Pamela Hidy of Leesburg reported that person(s) unknown forcibly entered a locked outbuilding and removed property from inside. TRAFFIC CRASH: Angela Messer of Jeffersonville was traveling south on SR 41 and lost control of her vehicle. Messer traveled off the roadway and overturned. Messer sustained injuries in the crash and was transported from the scene to a medical facility for treatment. Messer was cited for Failure to Control. UNRULY JUVENILES: Sheriff s deputies responded to the Ranch of Opportunity for several juveniles that fled from the property. The juveniles were later located and returned to the Ranch of Opportunity. TRAFFIC CRASH: Matthew Anders of Bloomingburg was traveling north on SR #38 near Yatesville-Wissler Rd and struck a deer in the roadway. TRAFFIC CRASH: Gregory Meeker of Chillicothe was traveling west on US #35 near the SR #753 ramp in the left lane and attempted to pass a semi-truck. The operator of the semi-truck initiated a lane change into the path of the Meeker vehicle where Meeker took evasive action to avoid collision, traveling off the roadway into the median. No injuries were reported THEFT: Heather Dawson of Washington Court House reported prescription medication taken from her residence. THEFT: Valarie Kennedy of Marysville reported that property was removed from inside her vehicle while parked at the Tanger Outlet Center. BURGLARY / THEFT: Robert Thomas of Washington Court House reported that his residence was entered by unknown person(s) and firearms were removed. TRAFFIC CRASH: Kent Taylor of Washington Court House was traveling south on Allen Rd and struck a deer in the roadway.
8 THEFT: The manager of Wilson Leather at the Tanger Outlet Center reported an internal theft of money from the business. TRAFFIC CRASH: Tanner Reyer of Greenfield was traveling west on Miami Trace Rd near Ghormley Rd and failed to negotiate a left curve, losing control of the vehicle. Reyer traveled off the roadway into a field. Reyer was cited for Failure to Control Cynthia McCallister of Leesburg was traveling south on US #62SW near Anderson Rd and struck a deer in the roadway. TRAFFIC CRASH: Stuart Bearden of Temple, Georgia was operating his tractor-trailer on the parking lot of Flying J at SR #435 & I-71 and made an improper left turn, striking a parked tractor-trailer owned by TMC Transportation of Des Moines, Iowa. No injuries were reported. TRAFFIC CRASH: Holly Hill of Jeffersonville was traveling northbound on I-71 near SR #38 and struck tire debris in the roadway. No injuries were reported TELEPHONE HARASSMENT: Deborah M. Snyder of New Holland reported over the past few days a known person had made numerous unwanted telephone calls to her. THEFT: John Boltenhouse of Washington Court House reported money taken from his residence. A suspect was identified, however Mr. Boltenhouse declined prosecution and the money was returned THEFT: A faculty member of Miami Trace High School reported a known person had removed two laptop computers from the school. Brian L. Forsha of Washington CH was charged in the offense. IDENTITY THEFT: George R. Bailey of Jeffersonville reported an unknown person had used his personal information to obtain household utilities. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Rachel Storer, Jeffersonville reported that she had been physically assaulted, by her live-in boyfriend, Samuel Keaton. Keaton fled the scene prior to the deputies arrival and a warrant was issued on this charge. Keaton was located and transported to the Fayette County Jail CIVIL MATTER: Tina Hayner, Washington CH reported she is currently involved in dispute with wo known subjects concerning a dispute involving living arrangements following the death of the landlord. Hayner was referred to her attorney. USE OF FORCE: Rickey Kidder, Bloomingburg was arrested by the Washington CH Police Department and brought to the Fayette Co. Jail. Upon arriving at the jail Kidder was combative and uncooperative with the jail staff. He was physically restrained, searched and placed in a holding cell.
9 DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Shannon Noel and Elizabeth Noel, both of Washington CH report that they were involved in a verbal argument. Both parties denied any physical altercation or threats of harm. TRAFFIC CRASH: Kyler K. Dawson of Washington Court House was traveling west on US #35 near the Harmony Rd overpass and hydroplaned in standing water. Dawson traveled off the north side of the roadway and struck the ditch before coming to rest. No injuries were reported THEFT: Sierra Atherton of Washington CH came to the Sheriff s Office reporting her wallet stolen. BREAKING & ENTERING/THEFT: Sheriff s deputies located broken glass at the Sunglass Hut. Several items were found to have been removed from the business. BURGLARY/THEFT: Emily Stires of Bloomingburg reported person(s) unknown forced entry into her residence and removed property from inside. POSSESSING DRUG ABUSE INSTRUMENTS: Sheriff s deputy responded to Peddicord Ave on a suspicious vehicle complaint. Contact was made with the vehicle and its driver. During the investigation hypodermic syringes were located. Kyle Klawitter of Johnstown, Oh was arrested and transported to Fayette County Jail. POSSESSING DRUG ABUSE INSTRUMENTS: Sheriff s deputies responded to True North Shell on SR 435 on reports of a vehicle that is listed as an unauthorized use. Contact was made and the occupants were found to have active warrants. During the investigation hypodermic syringes were located inside the vehicle. Matthew Smith of Washington CH was arrested and transported to Fayette County Jail. FOUND PROPERTY: Employees of Tanger Mall found a wallet that was lost by a customer, Sue Mueller, of Cincinnati, which was turned over to the Sheriff s Office. Mueller was contacted and she retrieved her wallet from the Sheriff s Office the next day. TRAFFIC CRASH: Carissa Isaac, of Moraine states that she was experiencing engine trouble and was traveling slowly on US 35, when she was struck in the rear by Hakizamana Philemon, of Cincinnati. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene. Isaac and her passenger were entrapped in the vehicle and had to be removed by mechanical means, prior to being transported to the Fayette Co. Memorial Hospital for treatment. Philemon was cited for failing to maintain assured clear distance ahead and Isaac was cited for driving under a suspended license DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE: A deputy sheriff on patrol located a vehicle traveling on US 22 and observed several traffic violations. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was found to be impaired. Jewel Penwell of Washington CH was arrested and transported to Fayette County Jail and charged. ASSAULT: Tabitha Everhart of Washington CH reported being assaulted by a known male subject. Everhart refused prosecution in the matter.
10 TRAFFIC CRASH: Robert Sollars of New Vienna, Oh was traveling south on Washington New Martinsburg Rd and struck a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported TRAFFIC CRASH: Robert Elliott of Frankfort, Oh was traveling north on US 62 and lost control of his vehicle. Elliott traveled off the right side of the roadway into the ditch overturning. No injuries were reported. Elliott was cited for Failure to Control and driving under suspension. TRAFFIC CRASH: Gavin Jung, Mason, Oh was attempting to back into a driveway, to turn around. Jung missed the driveway and entered a ditch line striking the ditch embankment, causing minor damage to the rear of the vehicle. Jung was cited for improper backing. BURGLARY / THEFT: Debbie Massie, Bloomingburg reported her residence was entered and property was removed. CRIMINAL DAMAGING / CRIMINAL TRESPASS: Gregory Harvel, Mt. Sterling reported eight trees on his property had been damaged on his property. TRAFFIC CRASH: Kristi Brickles, Washington CH reported she was north bound on SR 41 when a deer entered her lane of travel and was struck. Brickles vehicle sustained minor damage was driven from the scene CRIMINAL DAMAGING: Travis Ivey of Washington CH reported person(s) unknown attempted to gain access to the inside of his vehicle causing damage to the windshield. DOMESTIC DISPUTE: Thomas Cox, Jeffersonville reported two known subjects were involved in an argument in the residence. Both were contacted and both denied any physical assault and declined to pursue charges. BREAKING & ENTERING/THEFT: William Smith of Greenfield, OH reported person(s) unknown entered a residence and removed a furnace. TRAFFIC CRASH: Erik Mating, Washington CH was pulling into a farm field and did not observe a wire for an electric utility pole and struck it with his vehicle. The pole was broken off and the utility wires were pulled down. DP&L responded to make repairs THEFT: An employee of Bath & Body Works reported person(s) unknown removed merchandise from the business without payment. TRAFFIC CRASH: Robert Corzatt, Leesburg reported someone struck his mailbox and an AT&T junction box and fled the area. Upon checking the scene it was determined that a vehicle that was east bound on Simmons Rd. and traveled off the right side of the roadway striking the mailbox and junction box and then fled the scene. BREAKING & ENTERING / THEFT: Jaret Bishop, reported overnight someone entered his business and removed a vehicle, trailer and equipment. TAKING THE IDENTITY OF ANOTHER Information was received from Job & Family Services indicating that someone was using the Social Security Number of a deceased person and attempting to obtain benefits. The matter is under investigation.
