Municipal Office News Bear Awareness Garbage-eating bears lose their fear of people and can become a nuisance and possibly dangerous. Don t attract bears to your neighbourhood.

Get rid of any unwanted fruit trees. Barbecues: Burn grills clean to remove any food residues and store barbecues inside. If left outside, keep it covered and store out of the wind.

The bear is likely passing through and will move on if it doesn t find food. Keep away from the bear and warn others to stay away. Bring children and pets indoors.

Get rid of any unwanted fruit trees. Barbecues: Burn grills clean to remove any food residues and store barbecues inside. If left outside, keep it covered and store out of the wind. Pets: A dog may warn you that a bear is nearby, but be sure your dog is restrained or in a fenced yard. If you see a bear: Remain calm. 7 Seaview School News April has been a very busy month full of activities, field trips and science! Here is just a glimpse of what we have been up to this past month. Congratulations to all of the participants at our school Science Fair on April 7th, and to the students who were selected to represent our school at the District Science Fair at NISS on April 13th. Grade 2 Amanda & Kessler, Grade 3/4 Ethan, Jayden & Bella, Grade 5/6 Lucca & Alexis, Grade 7 Mariah & Andrew. A special Thank-You to our volunteer judges: Mr. & Mrs. Nordin, Constable Parish, Mr. Jack, Mr. Jasim, and Ms. Baker. On Thursday, April 20th, Sea View was visited by the Scientists in Schools program. Each student, K-7, learned about chemical reactions and conducted experiments in the gym. Students learned new scientific skills and information while think- Jump Rope for Heart activities were held on Monday April 24th. Students spent the last hour of the day skipping and jumping to support this worthy cause. Students raised a total of $ for the Heart &Stroke Foundation! Thank you to our many generous donors Stuparticipated in a school wide walk to Jeune Landing on Friday April 21st to release the salmon they have been raising in the classroom. 8 Seaview School News On Thursday, April 20th, 3 & 4 year olds spent the afternoon with the Kindergarten/Grade 1 students in the primary classroom. This year s event had a Fairy Tale theme and students entered through a drawbridge door into a land far, far away. After a busy afternoon, all kids were sent home with a gift bag that included two fairy tale books, fairy tale finger puppets and other fairy tale related items to continue their learning at home. Thank-you to all who attended and to Mrs. Jack for a wonderful event. Thank-you to Western Forest Products for organizing a tour of the Heli-logging operation on Wednesday April 19th for Sea View students in grades A special thank you Vince, and Michelle for all of the work that went into making this tour happen. The event was highly engaging, and our students were excited to learn about this unique, local endeavor. May 4th Hanging baskets, planters, veggie starters, soil etc. arrives.
