3 Social Activities Friday 17th February 2017 Evening - Welcome Dinner Please join us for a welcome dinner up the Port Hills at the Christchurch Gondola. Return bus transport from Novotel and IBIS. Dress: Smart/Casual, family welcome to attend. Saturday 18th February 2017 Actvity 1 - Christchurch Adventure Park The Christchurch Adventure Park opens in December 2016 and will be a major new tourist attraction for the city of Christchurch. The Christchurch Adventure Park will be the largest downhill mountain bike park in the Southern Hemisphere with over 120km of bike routes. Enjoy half day mountain biking catering for all levels. Activity 2 - Surfing Lesson at Sumner Beach The Learn to Surf class involves a two hour lesson with all equipment provided, plus two hours free hire time after the lesson as well. Learn to Surf pride themselves in their success rate on teaching people to stand in their first lesson. Cost $ Activity 3 - Golf: Clearwater Golf Club, Christchurch We are holding two tee times at Clearwater Golf Course which will be a fantastic afternoon on a championship golf course. Evening - Conference Dinner The Great Hall in The Arts Centre reopened its doors in June You will enjoy dining in this stunning historic building that has been extensively strengthened, repaired and restored following the devastating Canterbury earthquakes. We will arrive at The Arts Centre by tram. Please note children cannot attend the dinner so a babysitter will need to be arranged through your hotel. NB: no stiletto heels can be worn in The Great Hall.

4 Foundation Skills for Surgical Educators Course The Foundations Skills for Surgical Educators is an introductory course to expand knowledge and skills in surgical teaching and education. The aim of the course is to establish the basic standards expected of our surgical educators within the College. The course will further knowledge in teaching and learning concepts and look at how these can be applied into the participants own teaching context. This one day course is targeted at senior Trainees, IMGs and new and existing surgical supervisors who teach. The Foundation Skills for Surgical Educators course is the first educational response to the RACS Building Respect and Improving Patient Safety Action Plan and is a mandatory requirement for all surgeons involved in teaching.
