The yearling cattle to the trade this week saw all grades gaining 8c-10c/kg and more in places. Heavy cattle were also dearer by 2c-6c. Cows also saw strong competition with an extra processor back in the market and jumped by 4c-8c/kg. The best bulls sold to 206.6c. 3 NOTICES TO SHEEP & CATTLE PRODUCERS Sheep Producers: Please make sure your sheep have a proper curfew before being loaded for the Sheep Sale. If you are interested in listing livestock on Auctions Plus please contact either: Angus Stuart Jamie Stuart EMERGENCY NVD/WAYBILLS Emergency LPA NVD/Waybills can be used in circumstances where an LPA NVD/Waybill is not available to the vendor and when an order for a NVD book has been placed (ie: current book has been lost or is full & you are waiting on new book). Emergency NVDs can be obtained via the LPA hotline on Is your NVD a 2013 Edition? As from 1st January 2015 a number of cattle and NOW SHEEP processors will only accept 2013 Edition NVDs PHASING OUT OLD NVD BOOKS Further to previous advice, we have now received notification from cattle and sheep processors that all stock purchased after 1st January 2015, in the paddock, or through the Saleyards must be accompanied by an accurate and fully completed 2013 Edition NVD. The correct LPA NVD is recognizable by the pre-printed edition number Cattle: C0413, Sheep: S0413, EU Cattle: E0413 (which is in a white box just beside the serial number on each NVD). Customer demands in relation to transparency and traceability have made it necessary to implement these changes and the advantages of swapping to the 2013 NVD is that by answering: Question 2 as NO the cattle are automatically assumed Saudi Eligible and Question 6 as NO the cattle are automatically assumed Russian Eligible. This edition has been available since December 2013, so many vendors will already have this edition. Any electronic NVDs downloaded by producers will automatically be the latest edition. Is your NVD a 2013 Edition? If not, you need to order a new NVD book! MSA is not a QA programme only Flockcare. 18% of sheep NVDs still had errors or omissions, such as not answering questions correctly Q3 cannot be yes and no. If not vendor bred, other PIC numbers must be included in description and numbers must be completed before NVD is delivered to saleyards. Three NVDs did not have Russian and Saudi Eligible written at question 8 only NVD s prior to 2013 edition have to have Russian & Saudi Eligible noted. Cattle NVDs 69% of cattle NVDs were correctly completed for our last sale more errors this sale than last time. You must declare the number of NLIS devices on your NVD either in the ear or in the rumen. Another 10% drop this week of correctly completed NVD s. 31% of cattle NVDs had errors or omissions, such as leaving blank NLIS devices used on these cattle Ear or Rumen. Three vendors did not answer question 8 and still RE & SE not filled in. Please check your NVD s carefully before stock are transported. An NVD has legal significance. Regulatory authorities may take legal action, and purchasers may seek damages if any information is incorrect. Please be absolutely satisfied you understand all elements of the document.
