1 HILL VIEW BUSHWALKERS Inc. PROGRAM February - June 2018 Walkers usually meet to pool cars at Turramurra Memorial Park, Karuah Road Turramurra (the official starting point) unless public transport is specified in which case the starting point is the designated train station. The start time in this program (the official starting time) is always from Turramurra Memorial Park, except when public transport is specified. We aim to be back about 4:00pm unless extended travel is involved. If you wish to go independently to the start of the walk (the track head), please be there ahead of the time you estimate the leaders will arrive. We regret that for safety and legal reasons dogs are not permitted on these walks. The EZY level enjoys walking a shorter distance at a slower pace about 2 kms an hour while the REGULAR level walks at about 3 kms per hour and the PLUS Level walks faster, about 4 kms per hour, goes further and enjoys hills and rough terrain. Please wear sensible clothes, especially walking shoes or boots, a hat and be prepared for wet or cold weather. You should also bring your own first aid kit. Please bring morning tea and lunch, which will be enjoyed along the track. You will also need at least one litre of water plus extra for hot weather. HVB s suggested donation towards your driver s costs. As outlined in the HVB Driver Donation Policy, the Committee suggests the following donations to help defray your driver s costs: Level A Transport for travel up to 25km from Turramurra Park - $5.00 per passenger Level B Transport for travel of more than 25km from Turramurra Park - $10.00 unless: Level C Transport for travel to the lower and upper Blue Mountains, and any other trip where toll roads are deemed to be the most practical route to the track head - $15.00 The classification A, B, or C will appear at the end of each walk description. Walks may be altered, at the discretion of the leader, if fire restrictions, weather conditions or any other factors warrant change. On occasion walks will, unfortunately, be cancelled. Major program changes or cancellations for the Regular or Plus walks will be communicated to members by and will be shown as a Stop Press item on the HVB website. In the event of a walk cancellation occurring after 6pm on the Thursday night or on the morning of the walk itself, walk leaders will always attend the starting point (not track head) of that walk to advise any members who turn up of the cancellation. On walk days, prior to the programmed starting time, any member in any doubt about a walk proceeding can always contact the leaders or a committee member by mobile phone for confirmation. This is especially recommended if members are intending to travel independently to the track head.
