Meet Fortitude Valley Station, entrance near ticket office Transport Train, north bound from Central Station WOOLLOONGABBA CIRCUIT some uphill walking Walk through the streets of South Brisbane and Woolloongabba returning via Mater Hill. WEDNESDAY 6 TH 9 am - CITY GARDENS TO NEW FARM - Enjoy the walk through the Brisbane Botanic Gardens and follow the boardwalk to the Riverside Centre and Waterfront Place before continuing to New Farm Park. 3 WEDNESDAY 13 TH 8 am - KANGAROO POINT, EAST BRISBANE CIRCUIT - Walk to Mowbray Park through the streets of Kangaroo Point and continue to Williamina Park (named after Mrs Mowbray). Return through the streets of East Brisbane. Distance 8 km mostly flat terrain Meet Thornton Street Ferry Terminal Transport Ferry departs 7.50 am Eagle Street Pier (departs every 10 minutes) CITY PARKS BY NIGHT some uphill walking Walk through many parks in the innercity area and along the historic streets of Spring Hill. THURSDAY 14 TH 9 am - GARDEN CITY, BULIMBA CREEK CIRCUIT A fairly level walk through the streets of Wishart to the bike path along Bulimba Creek. Distance 8 km mostly flat terrain Meet Garden City bus interchange stop B UBD Map 201 D 13 Transport Bus Busway 111 departs 8 23am King George Square Station 2F to Upper Mt Gravatt Bus Station and lift to interchange Finish Return to Garden City Shopping Centre SATURDAY 16 TH 6 am - CARINA WALK EQUINE AND RIPARIAN Meet Meadowlands Picnic Ground, Meadowlands Rd, Carina UBD Map 182 D 1-2 (Belmont Road side of bridge) 7 am DAISY HILL CONSERVATION PARK The conservation park provides eucalypt habitat for koalas and other wildlife and features many walking tracks along with the Daisy Hill Koala Centre. Distance 8 km mostly flat terrain with some slight uphill walking Meet Forest Lake Shopping Centre bus stop UBD Map 218 H 19 Transport Bus Cityxpress Forest Lake/Inala 460 departs 7 42am Queen Street Bus Stn 2a WEDNESDAY 20 TH 10 am - CHELMER TO SHERWOOD Walk through the streets and parks of Chelmer to the Brisbane River and continue beside Oxley Creek and along Sherwood Streets. Meet Chelmer Railway Station Transport Train Ipswich Line departs 9.28am Central Station Finish Sherwood Railway Station There is a Sausage Sizzle after this walk at Sherwood Forest Park. Take a walk beside the river and continue through the streets of Mandalay. A feature of this walk is the Biami Yumba Reserve. 5 Short Option Leave walk at Mandalay Picnic Area (morning tea) for Mandalay Bus Terminal after 3km or at Fig Tree Pocket Rd roundabout for bus stop 40 opposite Cubberla Street BOTANIC GARDENS, RIVERSIDE, KANGAROO POINT CLIFFS WALK walk through the City Botanic Gardens then catch a ferry to Thornton Street and return via the Kangaroo Point cliffs. SATURDAY 23 RD 6 am - CANNON HILL WALK COLMSLIE BEACH walk by Perrin Creek to the Colmslie Beach Reserve by the river. Explore tracks through the wetlands.
