Among th winnrs, Busch Gardn s Jungala rcivd th award for outstanding achivmnt (AOA) for a nw thm park land. Th Tha Award for Outstanding Achivmnt (AOA) is only awardd to thos projcts or liv vnts that rprsnt th highst standards of xcllnc and innovation for crating xciting placs and xprincs. Congratulations to Busch Gardns for bing th rcipint of this prstigious award. During th construction of Jungala, COST was rsponsibl for crating simulatd trs, rock formations, watrfalls, arth mbankmnt txturs, faux roots and vins, sat walls, and many othr custom thm faturs. Th $50 million xhibit showcass ovr a hundrd of th rgions most uniqu craturs including giant rivr ottrs, jaguars, harpy agls, Orinoco crocodils, and anacondas. Th xhibit faturs thr uniqu aras surrounding th xhibit s point of ntry, Fista Plaza. Each ara allows visitors

2 th opportunity to xprinc a diffrnt cosystm within th complx tropical rainforst. Ths aras includ th Cloud Forst, Amazon Forst and Atlantic Forst. T h i s m a j o r p r o j c t was dvlopd by th Miami-Dad Park and Rcration Dpartmnt, Miami Mtrozoo and th Zoological Socity of Florida. According to zoo officials, th Amazon and Byond xhibit alon will b largr than th avrag Amrican zoo. Th xhibit is situatd on about 27 acrs of land making it th largst xhibit of Tropical Amrica flora and fauna in th Unitd Stats and possibly th world. Dsignd by Sattl-basd architcts, Jons & Jons, Amazon and Byond faturs cutting-dg xhibits fully immrsing visitors in th xprinc of th tropics. With th hlp of Lyons/Zarmba Inc., a Boston basd xhibit planning and dsign firm, PCL Construction Srvics and COST, th unoccupid land was transformd into a lush and tropical oasis for its gusts and inhabitants. 3 Th Lon Butt Casino in South Chandlr, AZ is truly a gm in th nw ag of Tribal Gaming. Th nw casino boasts 850 slots, 24 tabls, 6 rstaurants and a 750 sat bingo hall. COST was proud to b a mmbr of th Lon Butt Casino construction tam that includd Sattl basd Group Wst Companis (architct/dsignr) and JE Dunn Construction (gnral contractor). Th tam slctd COST as th dsign/buildr for th casino watr faturs. Th projct includd thr sparat watr attractions within th casino and in th Port Cochr. Th main bar faturs fiv acrylic watr walls that ar staggrd in a V-shap. Th watr wall is approximatly 50 long and 20 tall. Programmabl LED lights chang th coloration of panls to crat a uniqu and xciting gaming atmosphr visibl as patrons ntr th casino. Th courtyard watr fatur involvs a sris of jumping fountains that crat an archd walkway. Patrons can pass undr th fountains with th utmost confidnc as ach fountain projcts a prcisly masurd rop of watr that is collctd in an adjacnt pool. Th pools and fountain stands ar dcoratd in custom granit to match th finishs within th courtyard. Th jumping fountains ar up lit to provid a uniqu focal point during day and vning hours. Th third watr fatur rsts within th Port Cochr. This fatur is mor naturalistic with nativ ston, arthn txtur finishs and thr fountains that shoot 20 into th air. Th intnt was to gt a mor vrtical watr lmnt without blocking th attractiv ntry to th casino. A patio xtnds into th pond ara crating a grat opportunity for patrons to tak photographs of th bautiful watr fountains. This ara can also b usd for displaying automobils as prizs. Locatd in Snoqualmi, Washington, th rgion s unparallld natural surroundings and majstic viws of th Cascad Mountains provid th ultimat location for this onof-a-kind vnu.
