4 Habrá señales prodigiosas en el sol, en la luna y las estrella En el pasaje evangélico, vemos cómo Jesús habla a sus apóstoles de su segunda venida a la tierra. Y les dice: Vigilad sobre vosotros mismos, para que vuestros corazones no estén ofuscados por la crápula, la em-briaguez y los afanes de esta vida, y no sobrevenga aquel día de improviso sobre vosotros. Es una vigilancia necesaria, basada en una oración continua, para evitar ser arrastrados por el mal. Y así poder estar en pie delante del Hijo de hombre cuando venga de nuevo. De una forma que sólo Dios conoce, la comunidad cristiana puede apresurar la venida final, ayudando a la humanidad a salir al encuentro del Señor que viene. Y lo hace ante todo, pero no sólo, con la oración. Las obras buenas son esenciales e inseparables de la oración, como recuerda la oración de este primer domingo de Adviento, con la que pedimos al Padre celestial que suscite en nosotros el deseo de salir al encuentro de Cristo, que viene, acompañados por las buenas obras (Benedicto XVI). SENTIDO DEL ADVIENTO Hemos llegado al tiempo de Adviento. Este tiempo -uno de los tiempos fuertes de la Liturgia- tiene un doble sentido: preparación de la Navidad, que conmemora la primera venida del Hijo de Dios a los hombres; y la preparación de nuestras vidas en la espera de la segunda venida de Cristo, al final de los tiempos. Durante las cuatro semanas que dura el Adviento, la Iglesia invita a los fieles a prepararse para las solemnidades de Navidad, para que salgamos al encuentro del Señor que quiere nacer de nuevo, espiritualmente, en el alma del cristiano. Entonces verán al Hijo del hombre venir en una nube, con gran poder y majestad. A la vez que nos recuerda la venida en la carne del Hijo de Dios, nuestra Madre la Iglesia nos anima a preparar la segunda venida de Cristo a la tierra, cuando sea el fin del mundo, y a renovar ardientemente la expectación de esta postrera venida del Señor. El Adviento es como una marcha: Dios viene hacia los hombres, y los hombres han de salir al encuentro del Señor. Tiempo de esperanza y de purificación, a través de la oración y de la penitencia, teniendo presente nuestra vocación a la santidad y nuestra condi-ción de viatores, de peregrinos hacia la Patria celestial, que nos lleva a vivir desprendidos de los bienes del mundo. Es un tiempo para rogar a la Virgen María y a san José que nos enseñen a disponernos a recibir a Jesús; y para considerar nuestra misión apostólica: Dios nos ha confiado este tiempo de espera hasta la Parusía, para que anunciemos el Evangelio a todos los hombres. Pero la advertencia del Señor estar siempre despiertos, pidiendo fuerza- no es sólo para el encuentro con Cristo al final de los tiempos, sino también para el encuentro con el Señor en el momento que Él nos llame a su presencia, en el momento de la muerte.

Estar formalmente registrado y activo en la parroquia durante por lo menos tres meses 2.) Fiel asistencia a Misa los domingos y días de precepto 3.) Apoyo a la parroquia mediante el sistema de sobres; 4.) La participación en al menos un ministerio u organización en la parroquia se prefiere. Estos criterios se utilizan para verificar el estado del feligrés en nuestra parroquia para: proporcionar certificados; inscripción en escuelas parroquiales; participación en ministerios sacramentales, educativos y pastoral social; actividades y programas de enriquecimiento; y uso de instalaciones y servicios. Un feligrés inactivo por seis meses se moverá a un estado inactivo. Virgen de Guadalupe Acompáñenos comenzando el dia 3 de diciembre a las 7:30pm en la iglesia para un novenario en honor de la Virgen de Guadalupe. Terminamos el rosario el dia 11 de Diciembre con Adoración al Santisimo hasta las 10pm. El 12 de diciembre de las 5am hasta las 7am tendremos mañanitas en la hermita, luego, a las 7:30pm celebraremos las Santa Misa en la iglesia. Los esperamos! Adoración al Santisimo Los invitamos semanalmente los jueves entre las 7 y las 8 de la noche para compartir una hora de Adoración. El último jueves del mes el tiempo de Adoración se extiende hasta las 10pm. Te esperamos! MINISTERIO DE AYUDA DESPENSA Y CLOSET El Padre Arnulfo se enorgullece de anunciar el gran inicio del Ministerio de Ayuda: Despensa y Closet en la Parroquia Santo Tomas Apóstol. El objetivo principal es proporcionar asistencia de emergencia con Alimento y Vestido a los feligreses y miembros de la comunidad en situación de necesidad. Un grupo de voluntarios se ha integrado para formar este Ministerio de Ayuda. Otro servicio a ser ofrecido será el proporcionar información sobre las ayudas o servicios disponibles a través de Caridades Católicas, así como The United Way. El Padre Arnulfo expresa su agradecimiento a los Caballeros de Colon (Consejo 8900), por la organización de la colección de alimentos realizada durante la pasada Cuaresma; a través de los cuales se iniciará esta despensa de alimentos en nuestra Parroquia. Este Ministerio de Ayuda, también iniciará un Closet de Ropa al servicio de los necesitados. Todos estos servicios serán posibles gracias a la generosidad de ustedes, nuestros feligreses. Los invitamos a donar ropa limpia y en buen estado, así como alimentos para apoyar este hermoso Ministerio. La Despensa y el Closet estarán abiertos los segundos sábados del mes desde las 10:00 AM hasta las 12:00 del mediodía. Las personas interesadas en recibir ayuda, deberán dirigirse al salón parroquial. Luego los voluntarios los guiarán hasta el lugar de la despensa. Los letreros con la señalización correspondiente se colocarán solo en los días que la despensa esté abierta. Esperamos su apoye a este nuevo Ministerio con ropa, alimentos y oración por los necesitados. Para obtener más información, llame al y pregunte por Gloria. PARA RECIBIR SACRAMENTOS Para los Sacramentos de Bautismo (para niños de 5 años o menor) y Matrimonio, incluyendo una Quinceañera, se requiere una cita con el Padre Arnulfo antes de comenzar sus arreglos. Para los Sacramentos de Bautismo (para niños de 6 años o mas), primera comunión y confirmación para todas edades, comuníquese con la coordinadora de la educación religiosa. Nuestro Ministerio de la Educación Religiosa está organizando una fiesta de Navidad para niños hoy en el salón parroquial comenzando a las 2:30pm. CARIDADES CATOLICAS Las Caridades Católicas tienen una persona que habla español y a quien pueden llamar a ext. 33. Existen diferentes tipos de ayuda a los que se puede recurrir.
