7 November 27, 2016 First Sunday of Advent VII Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest Children, ages 5 through 14, are invited to enter in the Knights of Columbus Keep Christ in Christmas poster contest. Contest entrants will compete in one of three age groups: 5 through 7; 8 through 10; and 11 through 14. It consists of three levels of competition including council, district and reginal/state. Winnings can range from $25 to $250, depending on what level is achieved. Rules are specifically listed in the Knights of Columbus Keep Christ in Christmas flyer which is located in the church office. Here are some additional tips: Words can be included. For example, Hosanna or Jesus Christ is Born. Artwork must be on 11 x 17 paper. It can be Horizontal or vertical. It must be on paper that is heavy weight, not cardstock or poster board or card board. Water color paper may be used. Paper is available in the parish office. A variety of media may be used such as tissue paper, watercolor paint and acrylic paint. If pastels, chalk or charcoal is used your poster must be laminated. Deadline for our council is December 8 th. Please deliver your entry to the parish office. Students in the Religious Education Program or Mission Parish School may turn their entry into the Religious Education office or School office respectively. This is a time to support our Knights of Columbus, show off your talent and keep Christ in Christmas! PREGUNTA DE REFLEXION DE LA SEMANA Primer Domingo de Adviento 27 de noviembre, Ciclo A Isaías 2:1-5 Romanos 13:11-14 Mateo 24:37-44 Tema: Muéstranos, Señor, tu misericordia y danos tu salvación MENSAJE DE LA SEMANA: Hoy iniciamos el NUEVO AÑO LITÚRGICO. Y esto supone algo muy especial para un grupo de creyentes: nos disponemos a vivir, celebrar y alimentarnos -a lo largo de los próximos meses- de esa HISTORIA de AMOR de DIOS, de su historia de salvación para con nosotros. Esto es lo que la Comunidad Cristiana celebra en la liturgia. Cuántas veces podemos olvidar este punto de partida y entonces, son aburridas todas nuestras celebraciones! Qué pena y qué oportunidad perdida! 10 X Mission Basilica San Juan Capistrano TRADICIONES DE NUESTRA FE 27 de noviembre de 2016 El calendario cristiano comienza con el tiempo de Adviento durante el mes de diciembre. Adviento! Interesante palabra. Viene del latín y quiere decir Allí viene o Ya está llegando. Pero, de quién hablamos cuando proclamamos Adviento? Del Rey de gloria?, el Príncipe de la paz?, el Hijo de Dios Altísimo?, el salvador de Israel? Sí, sí, sí y sí, pero más todavía del Hijo del Hombre, del niñito de María, el niño Jesús de Nazaret. Allí viene y ya está llegando. Tenemos que estar preparados. Pero, cómo prepararnos para la llegada de un rey que es pobre?, de un príncipe que nació entre una mula y un buey?, de un niñito que ya es todo un hombre y además es Dios?, de un pobre bebito que también es juez y señor? He allí el dilema del Adviento cristiano. Es un llamado a vivir la paradoja (contradicción) de un tiempo que está a medias, donde el Reino de los Cielos ya está pero todavía no completamente, pues existe pero no en su plenitud. Es un llamado a buscar en el templo, en el mall, en el barrio, en el hogar, en el trabajo y en el propio corazón, para ver si allí viene el dueño de la casa. Es un llamado a estar atentos y vigilantes porque no sabemos ni cuándo ni como Jesús regresará por nosotros. Pero cuando regrese nos pedirá cuentas y nos abrazará a la misma vez. Porque viene como juez y hermano nuestro, como rey y compañero; como Dios y ser humano. 12 XII Mission Basilica San Juan Capistrano Caballeros de Colón (Knights of Columbus) Cristo en la Navidad Concurso de Carteles Todos los niños de edades 5 a 14, se les invita a que participent en el concurso de carteles Cristo en la Navidad de los Caballeros de Colón. Participantes concursarán en uno de tres grupos: Grupo 1 - edades de 5 a 7; Grupo 2- edades de 8 a 10; y Grupo 3 - edades de 11 a 14. Consiste de tres niveles de competencia incluyendo consejo, distrito y región/estado. Los ganadores pueden recibir un premio desde $25 a $250. Las reglas se encuentran en las inscripciones del concurso de Cristo en la Navidad de los Caballeros de Colón, las cuales están disponibles en la oficina parroquial. Tenemos inscripciones en Ingles y Español. Requisitos: Las dimensiones del cartel son de 11 x 17 pulgadas. Puede ser horizontal o vertical. El papel debe ser en paper durable que se pueda doblar facilmente sin arruinar el arte o romperse. Se pueden utilizar diferentes tipos de material como pintura de agua, pintura acrílica, y papel china. Si es que utilizan gis, pinturas pastel, o carbón, favor de laminar el cartel para proteger la obra de arte. La fecha límite para entregar por parte de nuestro consejo es el 8 de diciembre en la oficina parroquial. Los niños en Educacion Religiosa necesitan entregarlos antes, el 2 de diciembre. Pueden incluir palabras como Hosana o Jesus ha nacido (opcional) Esta es una oportunidad para para apoyar a los Caballeros de Colón, mostrar sus talentos y mantener a Cristro en Navidad! Si tiene preguntas, favor de comunicarse a la oficina de Educación Religiosa para español al (949) FIESTA NAVIDEÑA DE SERRA S PANTRY Nuestra fiesta anual Navideña para nuestras familias registradas se llevará a cabo el domingo, 18 de diciembre en el Centro Pastoral Comunitario (gimnasio). Esperamos servir a más de 2000 familias. Invitamos a nuestra comunidad en ayudar hacer de este evento un éxito donando regalos, tarjetas de regalo, o dinero en efectivo. Tendremos bolsas de regalo disponibles después de cada misa el fin de semana del 3 y 4 de diciembre. Por favor llévense una bolsa y regrésenla con un regalo antes del 10 y 11 de diciembre. En oración pedimos que consideren dar un regalo para ayudar a niños necesitados para que puedan sentir el gozo de Navidad.

13 27 de Noviembre 2016 Primer Domingo de Adviento XIII MATRIMONIOS COMUNITARIOS Se les hace una cordial invitación a todas las parejas que por diferentes motivos viven juntos pero no casados por la Iglesia a regularizar su unión con la bendición del Sacramento del Matrimonio. La ceremonia grupal se celebrará 11 de febrero de 2017 aquí en la Misión Basílica. II Encuentro Guadalupano La Oficina Para Ministerios Hispanos de La Diócesis de Orange los invita a todos los católicos Hispanos al II Encuentro Guadalupano. Se llevará a cabo el día 3 de Diciembre del 2016 a las 12:30 p.m. en la Catedral de Cristo Arboretum y Plaza, en la cuidad de Garden Grove, situada en el Chapman Ave., Garden Grove, CA 92840; teléfono Esta misa se celebra anualmente seguida por una procesión, recreación de las apariciones, bendición de las imágenes, bailes folclóricos, y mucho más. Este evento es gratuito y al aire libre. Venga acompáñenos a venerar a la Patrona de nuestra Diócesis de Orange y las Américas. La Oficina de la Justicia Restaurativa/Ministerio de Detención, pide su apoyo para estampillas/timbres, utilizadas para los encarcelados durante nuestro programa titulado Operación Espíritu Navideño. Cada año, recaudamos 7,000 estampillas/timbres y tarjetas Navideñas, para distribuir por toda nuestras cárceles y centros de detención de juveniles, en el condado de Orange. Esto le permite a los encarcelados, que servimos, una oportunidad de contactar y mandar un mensaje a sus seres queridos, enviándoles un sentimiento sencillo que, de otra manera, no sería posible sin su contribución.
