MASS CARDS When a person is sick, in need of a prayer, or when grief strikes hard in the friend s family with the death of a loved one, one of the best way to offer support and soothe the pain is to enroll that person in the Perpetual Mass League of the Scalabrinian Missionaries. Stop by the parish office and ask for a Mass Card. The secretary will further explain the advantages of such love offering. MASS INTENTIONS We place in the Bulletin the intentions of each Mass for the whole week. Never the less, there are many people, who come just as the Mass is about to start and ask the celebrant to mention their personal intention for that Mass. This is not the proper approach to the case. People wishing to request a Mass intention, should come personally to the parish office at least a week ahead of their intended date, so that the intention be duly registered in the parish Mass Book and included in the parish Bulletin. Arthur Carrillo, a Passionist Missionary will preach the annual mission appeal at all the Masses this weekend. Father will present the needs of the Passionist Missions of Holy Cross Province. DETENTION MINISTRY Every first Sunday of the month a priest from the parish celebrates the Eucharist at Sylmar Juvenile Hall at 8:00 am. Una de las herramientas para poder reportar el abuso y negligencia de menores es saber reconocer los indicadores comunes. En un padre, las siguientes muestras pueden señalar la presencia de abuso o negligencia: muestra poca preocupación en los hijos; culpa al niño de los problemas que el niño tiene en la escuela o en la casa; le pide a los maestros que utilicen disciplina física áspera si el niño se comporta mal; ve al hijo como un ser malo, que no vale la pena o agobiante.
