3 Arrival and Departure Registration & Check-In All units may start to check-in at Camp Kikthawenund starting at 7:00p. Campsites will be assigned upon arrival based on pre-registration numbers. Units with trailers are reminded that only the trailer is to remain in the campsite. No vehicles are to remain in the campsites. If a Webelos Den is pre-registered individually but desires to be in the same campsite as a particular troop, this information needs to be sent to Jason Lopez (delmi.cac.varsity@gmail.com) as soon as possible after registration to ensure that a campsite of sufficient size is available. There will be a Scoutmaster/SPL Meeting at 9:00p in the Dining Hall. Updates on weather and expectations will be given at this time. Please bring any and all questions you may have so that we can ensure we will have a great time. Check-Out Each troop will be on their own for Sunday morning. Check out with the District Representative to ensure the campsite has been checked and that all of your troop belongings have been retrieved. Each Troop and Webelos Den that is staying till Sunday is encouraged to hold their own Scout s Own Worship service.

5 Awards Backpacking Meal Cooking Contest This is a competition that is done in pairs. Webelos and Scouts can enter this competition where a meal for two is brought in for judging. All meals must be received by the judging time. Meals can be dropped off for judging no earlier than 15 minutes before the judging begins. Judging is expected to take no more than 20 minutes. Submission of a meal must include the following information: Name of the meal Ingredients Names of Scouts/Webelos submitting meal Unit of Scouts/Webelos Meal must contain vegetable(s) and a protein of some sort. Timed Circuit Building Scouts/Webelos desiring to participate in this activity can come to the circuit building station and select a time so that they are not waiting in line to do this activity. Due to the limited number of supplies, only one pair of Scouts or Webelos will work on this activity at a time. So, slots are limited. If more supplies are obtained prior to the camporee, more slots will be added. Scouts/Webelos will have 3 minutes to get the initial information. Then they will have 10 minutes to build the circuit. Scoring will consist of time to complete the circuit, functional and teamwork between the two Scouts/Webelos. Campsite Inspection Campsites will be visited starting at the time indicated. There will be a lot going on so we want to give everyone fair warning on when they might expect to see the inspection team come through. However, you might not know the inspection team has come through. So, be aware. We can be sneaky. Extra points can be awarded for staying with the camporee theme of the Nova Awards (STEM theme). But, be careful.

6 Stations Construction Zone (Parade Field (Inclement Weather: Dining Hall Back Porch) Nothing says Scouting like the opportunity to take nothing and make something out of it. Troops and Packs are encouraged to bring any recyclable material that they can find. Please make sure that it is clean. Scouts will be using these recycling materials to build a Mars Base, Marble Runs and Marshmallow Launchers. We will need a lot of recycling to allow each patrol or den the opportunity to build a Mars Base that will be part of the judging for a special award. Scouts and cubs will also try their hand at building model rockets. Once built, then the rockets will be launched to see just how high they will go. Some rockets will be on hand to be launched immediately. However, if the rocket being built is the one the Scouts or Cubs desire to launch, there may be a wait time to allow for glue/cement to dry prior to launch. If a Scout or Cub would like to bring their own rocket, it cannot be bigger than. Otherwise, it will fly outside the recovery area and risk being lost. When Troops and Packs check in on Friday, they will turn in their recycling so it can be set aside for this station. This station will cover Shoot! For the Boy Scout Nova and Out of the World for the Cub Scout Nova. The Grid (Dining Hall Main Room By Fireplace) Scouts will test their mathematical knowledge as they run through some games, and test their knowledge of cryptography and codes. This section is sponsored by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Use computers and paper tools to find the suspect. Even make your own code that others can try out. This station will cover the Go! Cub Scout Nova. Houston, We Are A Go! (Dining Hall Main Room Opposite Fireplace) Houston, the tower is clear. They re all yours. This is something that mission control likes to hear. The rocket or shuttle has cleared the launch tower and is on its way out of this atmosphere. But, what does it take to get out of the atmosphere? What happens when they come back in? What if we wanted to send something out of this atmosphere and have it stay our for a while? Well, let s see how we would do that with some things we find available. This station will cover Shoot! for the Boy Scout Nova.

7 Eyes In The Sky (Dining Hall Back Office) They orbit around us and us around them. They are satellites, planets and stars. If we wanted to track one, how would we do it? Well, come see the software that helps us track the orbits of satellites around the Earth,- and the locations of the planets and sun. Try to catch a satellite as it passes over. Better yet, see just how we fit into the big picture of our solar system. What is our size/distance comparison against the Sun? This station will cover Shoot! for the Boy Scout Nova and Out of this World for the Cub Scout Nova.

8 Disclaimer: Only four stations are identified for this camporee. But these stations do get very involved. So patrols and dens will stay very busy during the activities. Additional activities may also be added or current activities updated as station leaders make final preparations.
