3 REGISTRATION INFORMATION Pre-Registration Pre-registration is important for event planning and preparations. While we anticipate that all participants will receive patches, only pre-registered Scouts and unit leaders are guaranteed patches. Registration is $15.00 per person, if registration is before April 15 th, Registration fees for those that registered after April 15 th will be $18.00 per person. All registration forms and payment shall be sent into the Council office. If there is a sufficient amount of money in your Troop Account at the Council office, it may be used for Camporee payment. Site Selection The campsites at 7 Mountains Scout Camp will be used for troops to camp. If you would like/require a specific site please contact either Mike Ripka or Cole Buchart. You will receive your site assignment during Friday evening registration. Day of Event Sign In/ Registration Unit sign in will be in the Dining Hall - beginning at 5:00 PM on Friday April 28 th, If you have not preregistered, the registration fee for all participants is $18 after April 15 th. Registration fees must be paid with cash or check at Sign In. Please complete the unit registration form prior to arriving at the Camporee registration station.
4 Outline of Camporee Schedule and Activities: Friday Night Once your troop are registered and signed in, you may start moving into your assigned sites. Troops will be given free time for the rest of the night with the exception of a leaders meeting and OA meeting in the Dining Hall. Troops are encouraged to create wooden gateways leading into your campsite. The gate ways will be judged by staff later that weekend. Saturday Troops will be given schedules for the morning program rotation at the Friday check-in. Troops should follow their schedules and visit each area. The areas will be closed during lunch. Troops may visit the open program areas in the scheduled open program time. Cooking Competition Staff will be coming around to campsites for Saturday s dinner(6:30p.m.) and judging troops based on the criteria of most authentic time period food, most authentic time period cooking practices, and taste of food. Food will not be provided for troops. Campfire Troops/Patrols should plan and prepare a skit/cheer to be performed at the campfire. The Order of the Arrow will also be conducting a call out ceremony at the end of the campfire. Mountain Man Rendezvous Jamboree All participants will be offered a snack of root beer floats before campfire near the trading post porch. We will also have a blue grass band in camp. They will be preforming on the trading post porch. Sunday There will be a closing ceremony in the morning, and then followed by chapel service. Troops should have their site inspected by the staff before leaving. If you have questions or concerns, please let us know. 5 DETAILED INFORMATION Site Location Site Restriction Supervision Accidents First Aid Conduct Troop Flags Parking Restrooms Water Fires Seven Mountains Scout Camp 227 Sand Mountain Road, Spring Mills, PA Scouts will not be allowed to leave the boundaries of camp without adult supervision or cleared by the camporee staff. Each Scout unit must have two-deep leadership at all times. Advise the Camporee Staff if a situation arises where two deep is a problem. All accidents and emergencies MUST be reported to the Medical Director or Camporee chairman immediately. Any health problems should be reported to the first aid staff which will be located in the health lodge. Conduct at this Camporee will be that of the Scout Oath, Law, Motto, and Slogan. Vandalism will not be tolerated! Units are asked to bring their Troop Flag to be displayed at their site. Vehicles can access the sites to drop and pick up gear but should be kept in the main parking lot, not in the sites. Campers can use all restrooms throughout camp. Kybos, the shower house, and dining hall bathrooms can be utilized. If there should be a problem with any bathrooms contact the camporee staff Water will be available from designated faucets. You must provide your own containers for water. We encourage you to conserve water! Fires are permitted in established fire rings. Units may bring containers to burn wood fire or charcoal if the heat will not damage the soil or plant life. Care must be taken to ensure we Leave no Trace of any fires. It is recommended that troops use fire to cook all meals in order to stick with the theme of the weekend. Charcoal may be used for cooking if no trace principles are followed. Units will need to bring their own supply of firewood.
6 Cabins Saturday Campfire Trash Checkout and Final Assembly Cabins will be available on a first come first serve basis. Price of cabins is not included in the price of the weekend. Contact the council office if you would like to rent a cabin. Invite your family and friends, and bring out your favorite songs, skits, and cheers. The Order of the Arrow will also be holding their tap-out ceremony at the end of the campfire Trash should be collected in the sites in a garbage bag. Troops can dispose of garbage and recycling behind the dining hall. Troops may begin packing up anytime, beginning on Sunday morning. A staff member must inspect all Troop campsites before units leave. All troops must vacate by 12:00 PM. Patches will be issued after inspection. CUB SCOUT / WEBELOS INFORMATION We are planning a program for the cub scouts for Saturday. Cub scouts are welcome to stay the entire weekend however may attend just the Saturday portion of the Camporee if they wish. Meals will not be provided. Potential Program (Subject to change): -Log sawing -Slingshot -BB Gun -Fire Starting -Trapping/Tracking -Field Game - Candle Making - Wilderness Survival
