1 Focus Monthly newsletter Creative Camera Club, Wynberg, Cape Town The Creative Camera Club is a small interactive community of seriously enthusiastic, committed photographers meeting monthly to share their work and have it independently judged to raise their image making standards. They aim to develop their interests, visions, imaginations and camera skills to levels of creative excellence that make their photographs outstanding and memorable. (Images scoring 27 or more get Merit Awards. Two members tied in second place, on 28 points each, so their images are shown here as well). 5 CCC MOUILLE POINT SHOOT WAS WELL ATTENDED! Our Monthly CCC Shoot on Sunday 28 May was one of the best attended for some time 16 CCC members and 3 aspirant members took great Street Photography images in excellent, sunny weather. 16 people shared their images over coffee at 11am. The CCC Symposium is the answer and features a packed showcase of high-profile speakers presenting their very latest photographic work, telling tales of experiences in the field, and debating hot industry topics. The stellar line-up of speakers includes Leon Oosthuizen and Andre Venter. About Leon, by Leon: 5

6 I am the camera-mamba-ninja, the light wrangler, a photon cowboy. Equal parts artist, tech geek, teacher and comedian - I tame wild ideas, break concepts in and saddle them up. My goal is to make eye-poetry with every shot. I fell in love with photography at the ripe age of three. Since then, the magic and mystery of making ideas visible, understandable and enjoyable has been my passion. I shoot just about anything - from products, corporate portraits, weddings and architecture to conceptual and abstract images. I have many local and international clients and have been featured on Pasella, the Street focus podcast, Hashtag Radio, and Orms TV. About Andre: Andre lives in Paternoster, runs a restaurant and takes great images in and around the village. He will be our guide and organize what, where and when to shoot. Symposium Itinerary: Dates: 29 and 30 July 2017 Paternoster Arrive Saturday by 10 am : Introduction by Leon Oosthuizen Lunch Shoot all afternoon and at sunset Dinner Sunday morning shoot. Lunch, Review. What to shoot: Landscapes, Seascapes, Sunsets, Star trails, Animals, Local Culture Accommodation options and full details of the meeting place will be forwarded to all interested members. Partners are welcome. Members must pay for their own accommodation and all food and drink. There will be a fee of R200 per participant. Please register your interest by 16 June by ing info@creativecameraclub@gmail.com A deposit of R200 will be required. 6

Workshops: details to follow 16 September: Landscaping November: Post-processing WANTED: EDITOR OF FOCUS, 2018 Douglas Young is standing down as Editor of Focus in December Interested members are invited to stand for nomination a Editor at the CCC AGM in December, or to volunteer to work with him from August. There will be no Focus in July the Editor will be on holiday 7
