Saturday June 2nd we have the Grimm Brothers playing here. Keeping up with our big band Saturdays. This will coincide with our Chicago Dog night with Brian Vergenz's dog cart. All the fixin's for your favorite Chicago style dog. June 8th will be the final kid's movie night for the summer. "The Sandlot" will be the show. Wear baseball related items and get in on a special drawing. We will start up the movie night again in September. So have a great summer kid's! June 9th there will be a benefit here at the lodge, with two great area bands playing. Mellow Fire & Personality Crisis. Come down for great music, tons of raffles and food. Help support this event and have some fun as well. The weekend of June 15th will be Bloomin' Bands at the pavilion. This is another great event that supports reconstruction of disabled people to make their life at home more bearable. See you all there. Thursday June 21st is our Legions Summer picnic. Legionaries bring a dish to pass. The meat is supplied. MOOSEFEST!! Is here on June 22nd weekend. A full weekend of fun and music with a car show on Sunday. See the ad on the back of the newsletter and our web-site for more information. June 30th is Trivia night with "Rockin Russ". Great fun and entertainment. June 30th is the deadline to sign up for our golf outing on July 22nd at Maplecrest. $65 per player for all the goodies. Not a bad price for great food and golfing fun. Our August 26th picnic will be a little different this year. We've listened to your concerns and ideas settled on this. You can bring your family and qualified friends to it as well. 2 2 GOVERNOR'S CORNER Summer is finally here. Are you happy? I am. This means more outdoor activities. Every weekend in June there is something happening at the Lodge. Did you stop by the Lodge and grab your Moosefest yard sign? We need them up for the June 22nd event. Come by and have some fun. To all LOOM members, there is a special meeting on June 26th at 7:15 pm. We are going to be discussing expanding our business to secure the Lodge's future. I can't wait to see you all there. We have a new lodge incentive program coming up for LOOM members when signing up new members; sign up one, get a moose pin. Two gets you $5 in moose bucks, three gets you 1 years free dues. Four get you a moose shirt, five gets $10 in moose bucks and 5 club status. Sixth one gets you a years free dues, seven you get a moose hat. Eight gets you $15 in moose bucks, nine you get another years free dues and ten gets you free Oktobeerfest food and a beer stein, not bad. If you get more than ten then we'll have to figure something out. Challenge us, I dare you. LOL. 3 SPORTS Every Monday and Wednesday at 9:00 am the Moose golfers tee-up at Pets. The Social Quarters is open at 11:00 am and serves lunch until 1:00 pm. Bring in your golf receipts and receive you second drink free. Our Lodge golf outing will be on July 22nd at Maplecrest. $65 per person with lunch at the turn and dinner at the lodge after it's all done. Raffles and prizes as well. Sign up is by June 30th so get your four-some together and lets have some fun. Sign-up sheets are in the front hallway for the event. Moose State Golf will be in Menominee on July 15th, Flyer's are available at the lodge. International horseshoes will pitch in Janesville and Monroe on July 20th thru 22nd. Enter on-line or look for entry blanks on our bulletin board near the entrance. Outside, there is softball Monday thru Friday. Games start at 5:30 pm. There will be a co-ed softball tournament on August 4th and 5th. Call to enter. Wednesday nights horseshoes and Baggos are tossed. the kids playground and refreshment stand are open. Soon better wi-fi will be available. Monday night pool continues. There is free pool for our members all day in the Social Quarters. The Brewers are off to a real good start. Watch their games on the big screen TVs in our Social Quarters. Look for the tavern of the game announcement during the game. we are entered. Notes: the outside areas and inside halls are available for rent to our members. Call , morning for information. Full catering and bar service is available. This low discounted price does not include a t-shirt, but they are available for purchase. Parade in Somers last year President Chano had a group of riders in the parade. June 29 is our annual Kenosha Kingfish game Todd Richards has tickets now so you can pay him and get your tickets. The cost is $45 again and includes food and beverages including BEER Aug. 5 is tentative date for Booze cruise if enough interested. Aug. 19 is the moose picnic and from what I hear will be open to the public for the first time so we will be looking for help from our members. We are looking for info for a October 7 color ride to (Monroe?) for a overnight trip with a brewery tour and night out on town - they don't know what they are in for LOL. As always anyone that has other things that need to be discussed please attend and bring as much info to our next meeting. 5 NEWS FROM YOUR SENIOR REGENT I am so excited to see what this year brings. I get to work with a great team of ladies including the newly installed Women of the Moose (WOTM) board of officers: Jr. Regent - Elsa Weller, Recorder - Debra Keslov, Secretary/Treasurer - Sharon Jandrowski, and Jr. Graduate Regent - Chris Schneider. Appointed officers are: Guide - Colleen Bunner and Assistant Guide - Amy Stevens. I also want to thank the following ladies for accepting a committee chair position for the year: Membership Retention - Kellee Abozoglai, Community Service - Dawn Zuchowski, Sports/Activities - Kendall Sinclair, Mooseheart/Moosehaven - Patti Mason, and Higher Degree - Tina Standridge. The Audit Committee includes Chair - Peggy Gallo and Members - Ruth Matteucci and Sue Freisheim. The Application Review Committee includes Chair - Jen Scarlatto and Members - Jackie Ramey and Donna Thew. This group of ladies has a lot of new and fun ideas! Stay tuned and join us at the events coming up this year! Victoria's Catering did a fantastic job for Mother's Day. The food was amazing, and we had a great turnout. If you did not make it, you missed a wonderful meal. You have another chance for a great breakfast on June 17th! Come on out with your Dad's to celebrate Father's Day and enjoy another fantastic meal from Victoria's Catering! If you are available on Wednesdays, we would love to have you come help in the Bingo kitchen. We are usually there from about 4 PM until about 7:30 PM. Food is served from 5-7 PM. On the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays, the WOTM run Bingo. On those nights, we can also use volunteers out on the floor to help. If you can make it, even once a month, we would really appreciate it! Meeting reminder: The WOTM meetings are held on the 1st (Activity Night) and 3rd (Business Meeting) Tuesdays at 7 PM. We are always happy to see some new faces at the meetings. It is a great way to meet some new people and hopefully make some new friends, in addition to staying in the know of what is happening throughout the year. I would love to have you join us.
