The kitchen will be closed on Friday the 1st for Labor Day as well. The kitchen will be open on Friday the 8th at 4:00 pm. September 8th we will be hosting the kid s movie Smurfs, The Lost Village. The movie will start promptly at 5:30 pm with all the usual amenities for the kid s to enjoy. September 9th will be our next movie night starting at 3:00 pm, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. Vol.2 will start at 5:00 pm with pizza at the break between the movies again. September 14th through the 17th will the State s annual convention for the Moose in Fond Du Lac. This year we have the honor of having our own Director General Scott Hart as our official visitor. If you can make it to one convention, this is it. We will have firsthand information from Moose International. If you can make it for just one day it will be worth the trip. Registration forms are in the front hallway. September 23rd will be our Oktobeerfest held at our pavilion oasis. Brian Vergenz and Andy Burger will cooking food for the event. Willie Sterba will be our entertainer and master of ceremonies. The party starts at 4:00 pm. It should be a lot of fun and good eats. Garden Tractor pulls will start at 1:00 pm earlier in the day for a full day of fun. Starting at 7:00 pm. Our Moose member s picnic had some slight dampness but was a great event as always. Lots of fun was had by all the family. Many thanks to all the volunteers that made it a great success. Sponsors, we are helping you out for getting new and former members to sign up. Sign up 3 and get a year s dues free for yourself. We have had a great year so far and I'm looking forward to continue on though the rest of my year with great events and entertainment for all of you. Thanks to all our great volunteers that have helped out at our picnic and Moosefest. And everyone else who has helped out at bingos and everyday for the lodge. Without you my job would be impossible to do. Thank you all. We have a great program going on from Moose International and it's for our Valued Veterans. Please if you have served our country sign up today for this great honor and recognition we and International want to bestow on you. You've earned it. 3 SPORTS Lodge softball, horseshoes, golf, BAGGO and pool all end this month. Results and any highlights next issue. The Green Bay Packers kick-off the new season on Sunday September 10th at home vs Seattle with a 3:25 pm start. They travel to Atlanta for a Sunday night game with a 7:30 pm vs the Falcons on the 17th. Back to Lambeau field on the 24th for a 3:25 pm match vs Cincinnati. They stay in town for a Thursday night game vs Da Bears with a 7 pm start on the 28th of September. All regular season games will feature a Packer party in our Social Quarters. Lots of flat screen and big screen projection TV s so you don t miss a play. The first day of school at Mooseheart was August 17th. The boy s football started August 25th. The Ramblers play an 8 game schedule plus play offs, ending on October 20th. Homecoming at Mooseheart will be September 30th. Girls cross country has 4 meets scheduled starting September 12th with the last race for October 14th. All students at Mooseheart participate in some type of activity, be it varsity or intramural. Mooseheart is one of our core missions. It is a campus in Batavia, ill., supported by Moose Lodges from around the U.S. and world. State BAGGO at Marinette on September 30th. Notes: Lots to do outdoors at our Club. Reserve our hall for your holiday parties. Choice dates for this year still available. Full catering and bar service just for you and your party. Now is the time to join Kenosha Moose Riders for a small fee of $10 a year. Applications are available in the hallway at the Moose lodge. We are in the process of planning a poker run. Everyone is invited to join even if you don't have a motorcycle, many take their cars on all the runs and with winter coming up soon you can count on all the riders getting around that way. To all Lodge members, don't forget to purchase your Cruisin for the Heart Poker Run Books. This is for the summer long poker run (4 wheels or 2) that benefits the kids at Mooseheart. There is still plenty of time to get stamps before the end of run party on September 23th at the McHenry Moose Lodge. Hope you participate! 5 NEWS FROM YOUR SENIOR REGENT 5 Happy almost end of summertime! Can you believe it? All the hustle & bustle of getting families ready for off to college/school for the New Year. It can be crazy, but all for a positive outlook in life as they grow older and wiser. I hope everyone enjoyed their Labor Day holiday, I know I did. Our 2017 Moose family picnic was a great success, a huge thank you to our very own picnic organizer, Greg Powell along with others who put all efforts to help volunteer this year. Women of Moose are starting up our annual Friday night bake sales starting on September 8 in the back hall. You might be called to help out and donate a baked good for our events, please don t hang up or reject our phone call as we do leave a friendly message so you can call back (donations are always welcome). Our September 5th & 19th meetings take place on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday s at 7PM I hope to see you! September 5th activity meeting will be held by the Higher Degree Chairman, Mary Verbeten come and see what she has planned for us. Lucky Lady drawing winner was Sue DiCello and she was not in attendance, so she did not win at the last activity meeting. Diane Smart won the Lucky Lady drawing at our business meeting. She was in attendance and received a $10 certificate to use at Victoria's Cafe on Friday night. The 2017 Annual Conference will be happening in Fond Du Lac, WI from September 14-17, this is where our members/board of officers are educated and rewarded for all that we do, along with keeping our lodge a great place to be. October 1st will be the Fall Salad Luncheon (open to the public), bring your friends or loved ones, your favorite dish/dessert to share plus enjoy raffles & entertainment all for $8 a person doors will open at 11AM and luncheon starts at Noon.
