Branch 32 Website: Sir Happenings Newsletter: From Big Sir As we rush into the holiday season I am realizing that my term as Big Sir is rapidly coming to a close. It has been a wonderful year for Branch 32 and I hope we are stronger today than we were in the beginning of As is so often the case, the success of Branch 32 is the result of not just me but many hard working gentleman. It has been a privilege for me to head up a terrific Branch Executive Committee and to have the support of a great group of Committee chairs and assistants. I thank each and every one of you for your hard work and support during I feel confident that you will continue to support our new Big Sir, Wes Howard, as we move forward into During these difficult financial times SIRs remains the best buy of the year, and I encourage all to try and bring new members into our Branch. Jim Sleigh and his party committee have a terrific Holiday Party planned and I look forward to seeing all of you on Wednesday, December 16 th at the party. I understand there are a few tickets left, so grab your girl friend and join us. Call Jim Sleigh no later than Monday 12/7 for reservations. I wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Blessed and Happy Bruce Henry, Big Sir Membership Report The holiday season has begun and our attention will be family, friends, love, and joy for the next few weeks. Our branch has had a spectacular year membership wise and I look forward to 2016 and a continuation in our bringing new members with great ideas and ambitions to our branch. This year we have had 25 new members join Branch 32. That is nearly one quarter of our members has been with us less than one year. It is very important to welcome all our new members and get them involved in the activities of the branch. Please take a few minutes and search out the new members of 2015 and make sure they feel the welcome and good fellowship of Branch 32. To be inducted at the December luncheon: None Membership changes: #26 Active Dick Stowers was terminated for Rule 100 violation #61 Active Manny Esteban has moved to Inactive status for medical reasons Our current membership status, as of December 1, 2015 is: 109 active members, 8 Inactive members, and 0 pending Inductees. Activities Camera Club There is no meeting in December, Happy Holidays to you and yours. Attend the Holiday Party December 16, 2015 The meeting will be at Don Pedrotti s to critique the pictures taken at last two field trips, and pick the three winners from each. Everyone should bring their Two (2) best shots from each of the last two field trips for judging. All Branch 32 Members and wives are invited to participate in the camera club activities. You do not have to have a fancy camera and some of our winning photos were made with small compacts or smart phones. See your roster for phone and . Don Pedrotti, Camera Club Chairman Golf The annual Area 5/20 Turkey Shoot Tournament was held at the Spring Valley Golf Course in Milpitas on Monday, November 23. Branch 32 was well represented with eight members participating. Thank you Jim Caratozzolo, Bob Grandey, Rick Hausman and Skip Saunders who played as one foursome and Hal Daner, Galen Gipson, Bruce Henry and Paul Vogel who made up the other foursome. Some 48 SIR golfers participated in the tournament. There is no area tournament for December. The 2016 Area 5/20 schedule will not be announced until after the New Year. Thanks to all of the Branch 32 members who have paid your 2016 NCGA dues. A couple of you still have not paid. If you are planning on renewing, please submit you payment by Friday, December 18. If you re paying by check make checks payable in the amount of $36 to SIR s Branch 32 Golf. Submit your check to Paul Vogel, Covina Court, Saratoga, CA Field Trip Thursday January 7, 2016 San Jose Auto Show, San Jose Convention Center Note change in ride pool location. We will ride pool from the Princeton Plaza parking lot at the Orchard Supply parking area, 1375 Blossom Hill Rd., San Jose. The show opens at 10:00am so we will leave by 9:30am. Admission is $8.00 for seniors. When we finish the show we will ride pool back to have lunch at the Cup and Saucer located at Princeton Plaza. With the show going on eating down town is too much hassle. Club Meeting Wednesday February 24, :30 pm Don Pedrotti s home On November 17 our competition for the fall championship was held at Los Lagos. Eight Branch 32 members competed and our Big Sir Bruce Henry was the winner. The trophy was presented to Bruce at the November luncheon. This was the second time that Bruce has won the trophy. Congratulations Bruce! As was mentioned at the November luncheon, beginning in December we are joining the Branch 32 group with Al Mau s former Tuesday group for our weekly Tuesday tournaments.
