1 USS SALISBURY SOUND NEWS February Presidentʼs Corner How do you top the 2013 San Diego Reunion? It wonʼt be easy, but weʼre working hard to do just that. For our 2014 reunion in San Antonio, TX, we have once again engaged Pam Brown, one of the top military reunion planners in the country, to put together a slate of attractions that will have something for everyone. All are priced on an ala carte basis, so you can participate in as many or as few as you like. Our hotel is the beautiful Wyndham San Antonio Hotel Riverwalk, conveniently located on the famed Riverwalk in the heart of San Antonio. Because of our flexibility, we were able to negotiate an excellent rate of $119.00, plus tax, which includes a spectacular breakfast buffet and free parking. The rate is also good for three days before and three days after the reunion. After check-in on Sunday, September 7, join us at 6:00 p.m. for a complimentary Welcome Aboard wine and cheese reception. On Monday, September 8, begin your day at 9:30 a.m. with a tour of the famed Alamo, followed by shopping and lunch at the Mexican Market. We will be back to the hotel by 1:30 p.m. At 6:00 p.m. we will depart for the Rio Cibolo Ranch for a fabulous ranch dinner and live entertainment. On Tuesday, September 9, we will be treated to a tour of the LBJ Ranch, followed by a tour of the Admiral Nimitz Pacific War Museum in Fredericksburg, TX, followed by lunch on your own. We will return to the hotel by 5:00 p.m. On Wednesday, September 10, we will have our Memorial Service at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Business Meeting at 10:30 a.m., concurrent with the Ladies Coffee, Tea and Gift Exchange. The afternoon is free until the 6:00 p.m. Cocktail Hour, followed by the Final Evening Dinner and Dance at 7:00 p.m. The beautiful Riverwalk in San Antonio, TX is known all over the world and the area is rich in American history. 3 Dues As a reminder our dues are $20 per year for regular members and $15 for charter members. If you fall behind for five years you will be moved to a non member status. You are encouraged to keep your dues up to date to fund our news letter and other expenses that are incurred. As a reminder please send your dues to Secretary Marian Bruce and not Treasurer Barry Henry. We do this so we have a check and balance when handling money.
