Messrs Shillingham farms of Saltash sold their livestock trailer well at 2,325 going off to Bodmin, Cornwall with the Korte grain hopper in from David Hartnoll of Braunton close up at 1,700 going off to Cullompton. Yellowlands farm saw their 23ft bale trailer reach 1,650 whilst Trevor Dawe of East Putford went home delighted after selling his Dung spreader really well at 1,600. Lots of smaller trailers (car/quad) on offer saw the best reach 950 on behalf of Hydrotech Water Services of Taunton whilst Bill Law of Hollacombe topped the grassland machinery at 700 for his mower. The usual entry of sheep equipment saw Robert Partridge of Teignmouth top the day at 600 for his mobile creep feeder with Shillingham farms of Plymouth selling 4 wheel lamb creep feeders at 260(x2) & MACHINERY & GOODS (NON VAT) AUCTIONEER DAVID C KIVELL Plenty of smaller lots forward today saw Leeson farming sell feed gate barriers at 270 with roller doors for Cornish Spring Water Ltd of St Clether reaching 250 and the best of a tidy run of small goods from B&B Agriculture hitting 210 for a puller set with plenty between Messrs Rural Excess of Chepstow sold 200 lots with plenty of workshop goods between with an overall top call of 100 for a post box. A smaller entry to finish the year saw spirited bidding from start to finish with a top call of 900 for the small quad trailer in from Messrs Francis of Higher Drift near Saltash with the small topper from the same home at 580. Messrs Baker of Bradworthy saw his R reg Daihatsu fourtrak having done 171,000 miles hit 825 whilst the forklift (as seen) pulled away to 800 going off to Chumleigh. A good consignment of gate posts hit 180 whilst 8 dumpy bags of wood reached 300 ( 36p/bag).

Other interesting lots included a clearance from Messrs Cundy of Callington which included old steel buckets at 65 with 3 milk churns (Torrington Creamery) reaching 153.

Messrs Tinhay Building Supplies sold 6x6 posts at 110 whilst Kevin Hookway of Beech House saw his 5 pressure hose reels make 125.

447 PET FOOD/HORSE FOOD AUCTIONEER ANDREW VARNEY The usual entry of pet food & equipment saw a big crowd following with only 12 lots not sold.

Pet food from Bones of Hatherleigh sold to a 100% clearance topping at 30 for a consignment of horse food with individual bags ranging from 8-14 per bag.

3 Other interesting lots included a clearance from Messrs Cundy of Callington which included old steel buckets at 65 with 3 milk churns (Torrington Creamery) reaching 153. Messrs Hammett continued his dispersal with Milk churns (x3) to 124 and a pile of stakes at 28. Messrs Tinhay Building Supplies sold 6x6 posts at 110 whilst Kevin Hookway of Beech House saw his 5 pressure hose reels make 125. Top call of the day was 115 for a smart pair of young Pietrain boar pigs in from Richard Haste & Family who took the overall Championship kindly given by Folk 2 Folk of Launceston. Messrs Clarke of Bodmin saw their lightweight prime pigs at 89 going off to Padstow Butchers with Messrs Brown of Newquay hitting 80 for his best pen going off to Winkleigh. The best of the young store pigs hit 38 for a penful from Richard Pethick of Boscastle a price also matched by Messrs Burton of St Columb & Messrs Daniel of Wheatley. A good entry of cull sows saw the Folk 2 Folk Christmas Champion boar hit 110 and purchased by Mr Rodney Phillips of Bristol. The best sows reached 100 with Mr Richards of Truro close up at 91, 90(x2) & 85. A few goats forward from Mr J Amery of Launceston saw plenty of trade with the Boer Billy hitting 115 with the best of the females at 64 with others at 60 and weathers to 54. Emma Massingak of West Stowford sold her Turkeys well topping at 26 with the team of 8 averaging 25 with Terry Birch of Ashwater seeing his Aylesbury ducks to 25. Entries to TREES, HEDGING & PLANTS AUCTIONEER DAVID C KIVELL The final plant sale of the year saw a decent trade throughout with plenty of potential buyers present. 1 st to be sold were the cherry Trees which reached 46 with Cox s apple trees to 45(x10) and pear trees to 40. Victoria plum trees ranged from and Peregrine peach reaching 40. Gooseberry plants saw the best at 30 per bunch whilst flowering cherry plants saw the best bunch of 11 reach 110. Silver birch hit 45 & 44 with several other lots between Bunches of baby blue Christmas trees reached 20(x3) whilst climbing roses hit 60. It is great to see our vendors for the past few months and look forward to seeing them again in the new year!
