I told him his speed and he apologized for going that fast. I was driving W-19, using a Python radar (PYT ) in the moving mode. A calibration check was completed on the radar. Stewart's vehicle struck the rear of Jones' vehicle in the turn lane. Minor damage to both vehicles. Stewart stated Jones cut him off and then slammed on her brakes. He also stated he pointed this out to her after the accident, and she apologized. Jones stated she was established within the lane when she was struck. I asked her if she intentionally applied her brakes and admitted fault, and she denied both. Stewart felt Jones hit her brakes for no reason. Traffic at the time was heavy. Before Jones left the area she advised she was experiencing some back pain and may seek medical attention on her own. The vehicles had been moved out of the roadway prior to my arrival. The registered owner, Montrice Harris was under a non-compliance suspension. The BMV records indicated to send the vehicle registration and license plates to the BMV. I pulled up next to the vehicle and saw a male driver. I stopped the vehicle and I spoke to the driver, Mr. Harris. I advised him of the stop. He told me that he had taken care of the suspension. The vehicle was inventoried by Officer Moffitt. VJ's towed the vehicle. He was cited for non-compliance suspension with a mandatory court appearance for 02/15/2013 at 0845 hrs. Mr. Harris and Mr. Schertz were transported to the Circle K Gas Station to wait for a ride. The license plates and vehicle registration were logged into the property room to be sent to the BMV at a later time. Indiana Avenue, just east of Walnut Street, stopped in traffic that had backed-up from the red traffic signal at Louisiana Avenue. As the traffic signal cycled, the east and westbound left turn lanes cleared. Approximately eight vehicles back from the signal, I observed an eastbound, dark blue BMW leave its lane of travel, changing into the left turn lane, and proceeded towards the intersection. As the BMW reached the intersection, the red traffic signal changed to green for the through traffic. The BMW traveled through the intersection, passing traffic, before cutting back over to the right lane. The BMW was stopped and the driver was identified as 48 year-old Syed Shan Zamir. Zamir stated he had been "called to the hospital" and something about how he had mistaken "his exit". Zamir was cited for Rules for Marked Lanes ( ORC).
