Boundary St. facing SB, I observed a tan Oldsmobile Silhoutte (OH-EPQ9459) traveling NB at what appeared to be a higher rate of speed than the posted speed limit of 25 mph. I activated radar unit (E22204) and a speed of 40 mph was detected. I initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as Kimberly A. Moore. I asked Moore if she knew the reason for the stop and she stated "Yes, Speeding". Moore was issued a citation for Speed 40 mph in a 25 mph zone (ORC B2,MM). She was advised to provide proof of insurance to the court. I observed a gold/gray sedan traveling N on SR 25 at what appeared to be over the posted speed limit of 40 mph. I estimated the vehicle to be traveling at about 55 mph. The vehicle had merged into the curb lane and was passing a black vehicle on the right. I used laser unit TS to perform a speed check and found the vehicle to be traveling at 55 mph. I initiated a traffic stop and advised the driver, Mr. Nelson, why I had stopped him. Mr. Nelson stated that he had just left the Doctors Office and was just trying to pass a couple of cars. Mr. Nelson was cited for speed. Mr. Nelson stated, "I couldn't get a warning?" I advised him that due to the wet roads, snow, below freezing temperature (22), and being 15 mph over the speed limit, I felt a citation was warranted. I answered a couple other questions about locations and phone numbers and Mr. Nelson then left.i had good tracking, no interference, and a calibration check was done at about 1530 hrs. Nate Burtscher, operating a grey Ford (789XTN), was traveling eastbound in the left turn lane of US 20 near the the IR 75 on ramp. Burtscher's vehicle slid on the wet pavement causing his right side mirror to strike the left side mirror of Gray's vehicle. Burtscher and Gray made arrangements to handle the repairs to her mirror prior to my arrival. Neither Gray or Burtscher wanted an OH-1 filed. The vehicle was allowed to be parked on that side of the roadway, except it was parked facing the opposite direction of travel for that side of the roadway. A citation was left with the vehicle. I estimated the vehicles speed to be approximately 40 mph. I activated radar unit (E22204) and a speed of 41 mph was detected. I initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as Katarina K. Truss. I asked Truss if she knew the reason for the traffic stop and she stated "speeding". Truss was issued a citation for Speed 41 mph in a 25 mph zone (ORC B2,MM). She was advised to provide proof of insurance when paying for her citation. She was provided with a court date of Friday, February 22nd at 8:45 a.m. A calibration check was performed at approximately 1510 hrs and 1940 hrs and was found to be working properly. 7 Jeremiah Westhoven was operating a silver 2001 BMW 540i (OH-FHB8758) in the left hand lane of southbound IR-475. Maddisan Hoste was operating a silver 2000 Honda Civic (OH-W897215) in the middle lane of southbound IR-475. Hoste attempted to change lanes and did not see Westhoven beside her. Hoste struck the passenger side of Westhoven's vehicle with the driver's side of her own. A check with stationary radar indicated the Dodge was traveling at a steady 43 MPH through the 20 MPH school zone while traveling north on Sandusky St passing E Seventh St. A traffic stop was initiated and Tamara Blausey was identified as the driver. Blausey stated she was late for a 3:00 PM doctors appointment for her infant child. I told her it was already 3:30 PM. Blausey was issued a traffic citation for Speed Above Posted Limits (School Zone) (43/20) B1A ORC (MM) and given a court date of February 26, 2013 at 5:00 PMRadar: PYT Calibration check: conducted at 3:15 PM and again immediately after the traffic stop. In both instances the radar was found to be working properly. Bostdorff was in the center lane. Two cars were stopped at a red light directly in front of Bostdorff. Bostdorff braked to stop but her vehicle slid on the icy roadway. Keith stated that the trailer began to fish-tail on the snowy road surface and he lost control. The truck went off of the right side of the road and the trailer jacknifed into the right side of the truck as they went across the ditch. Keith was issued a citaiton for failure to control. Neiling struck the ODOT right-of-way fence at the bottom of the ditch. Neiling was issued a citation for failure to control ORC.
