1 Lake Bluff Daily Log Incident Type Date / Time Incident Number Address Theft Under $300 08/21/ :02: E CENTER AVE Narrative: Officer responded to the 200 block of E. Center Ave for a report of a theft of a kayak. Assist Fire 08/21/ :16: E CENTER AVE Narrative: Officer responded to Lake Bluff Village Hall for an activated fire alarm. Officer arrived on scene along with Lake Bluff Fire Department. Alarm panel was reset and no irregularities were noted. Officer stood by until properly relieved. Accident-Hit and Run PDO 08/21/ :03: S WAUKEGAN RD Narrative: While on patrol, in the area of the 200 block of South Waukegan Road, Officer was flagged down by a good Samaritan who had just witnessed a hit and run accident. Officer was able to locate the owner of the parked vehicle that was hit. Officer completed a SR10-50 report form and supplied the owner with a copy. The suspect vehicle was described as a light blue Subaru outback. Animal Complaint 08/21/ :11: W WITCHWOOD LN / MACLAREN LN Narrative: Officer responded to the entrance to the Lake Bluff Open Lands off of W. Witchwood Lane to meet a complainant regarding a Blue Heron type bird that was injured and near the walking path approximately 200 yards from the entrance. Officer advised contacting the Lake Bluff Open Lands and the complainant stated she had called and they could not help. Suspicious Vehicle 08/21/ :27: E CENTER AVE / SIMPSON AVE Narrative: Officers responded to the 600 block of E. Center Avenue for a complaint of 3 subjects sitting in an older model Cadillac and possibly casing the area. Officers made contact with the subjects who stated they were geo cashing and no other irregularities were observed. Found Property 08/21/ :11: E SCRANTON AVE / SUNRISE AVE Narrative: Officer responded to the PSB to meet with a resident who had found a pair of brown reading glasses on the sidewalk at the 700 block of E. Scranton Ave. Officer entered the found glasses into the found property book and placed the glasses in the found property. Driving Complaint 08/21/ :32: S RT 41 / W WESTLEIGH RD Narrative: Officer responded to Route 41 north bound for a report of a driving complaint north bound from Westleigh Rd. The complainant stated that a pack of motorcycles were driving recklessly weaving between cars. Officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on one of the motorcycles on Route 41 north bound at our north limit. The motorcyclist failed to yield to lights and sirens and fled the scene at a high rate of speed, disobeying a red light at Route 41 north bound at Route 137. Officer did not attempt to pursue the motorcycles and notification was made to Gurnee PD. Officer checked Route 41 north bound to Amhurst Pkwy to make sure there was no
2 traffic accident and then cleared. Suspicious Person 08/21/ :50: WEATHERFORD CT / ARMOUR DR Narrative: Officer responded to the area of Leeds Ct and Armour for the report of subjects walking in the roadway. Upon arrival, Officer located 3 subjects long-boarding in the roadway. The subjects entered a vehicle and travelled west on Armour from Leeds Ct. Officer conducted an investigative stop on the vehicle and spoke with the driver and 2 passengers, who stated they were looking for a roadway with hills to longboard on. I advised them to longboard in a skate park or on a sidewalk as to not block traffic. Driving Complaint 08/21/ :54: S RT 41 / W WESTLEIGH RD Narrative: Officer was dispatched to Route 41 north bound for a report of a driving complaint. The complainant stated that a white in color BMW was traveling at a high rate of speed. The call was delayed and the information was passed along to North Chicago PD. Officer cleared. Traffic Arrest 08/21/ :33: N RT 41/W WASHINGTON Narrative: Officer conducted an investigative stop on a vehicle that was observed leaving the back lot of A closed business and quickly cut through the parking lot and onto Route 176. It was determined the driver was looking for scrap metal. Officer issued T42339 for driving while license revoked. Disorderly Conduct 08/21/ :31: E WOODLAND RD Narrative: Officers responded to the 100 block of East Woodland Road for a report of a fight in progress with three subjects. Upon arrival, officer observed four subjects talking on the front lawn. Officer determined two of the subjects had a verbal argument and had shoved one another. No complaints were to be signed and the involved parties were sent on their way per the request of the homeowner. No further assistance was needed and officers cleared. Citizen Assist 08/22/ :40: SHERIDAN RD Narrative: Officer responded to the train depot to assist a citizen in locking her vehicle after she had parked it, and taken the train to Chicago. Officer locked the vehicle. No further assistance was needed and Officer cleared. Motorist Assist 08/22/ :27: SKOKIE HWY Narrative: Officer responded to northbound Route 41 for a report of a possible disabled vehicle receiving assistance from another vehicle facing southbound in the northbound lanes. Officer checked the area but the vehicles were gone upon arrival. No further assistance was needed and officer cleared. 911 Call Investigation 08/22/ :57: ROCKLAND RD Narrative: Officer responded to the 300 block of Rockland Road and verified with receptionist that a 911 hang up call was accidental by an employee. Officer observed no other irregularities.
3 Theft Under $300 08/22/ :12: RAVINE FOREST DR Narrative: Officer responded to the Lake Bluff Police Department for a walk in theft report. Officer arrived on scene and spoke with the complainant who stated that he had sold an item on Ebay and the buyer stated that the item was not working properly and sent back a completely different item with a different serial number. Found Property 08/22/ :52: SHOREACRES RD Narrative: Officer responded to the Public Safety Building after a good Samaritan found a wallet on Shoreacres Road. Officer was able to contact the owner of the wallet and advised us that he would come and pick it up. A found property sheet was completed and the owner will sign for the items when he arrives at the Public Safety Building. Theft Under $300 08/22/ :37: SHERIDAN RD Narrative: Officer responded to the Lake Bluff Public Safety Building to take a theft report, license plate stolen of the front of a vehicle over the weekend from the train depot. Assist Fire 08/22/ :48: JENSEN LN Narrative: Officer responded with the Lake Bluff and Knollwood Fire Departments to the 300 block of Jensen Lane for an activated fire alarm at a pump house in the Stonebridge Subdivision. The alarm was caused by workers that were on scene. No other police service requested. Ambulance Assist 08/22/ :35: W SHERIDAN PL Narrative: Officer responded with the Lake Bluff and Lake Forest Fire Departments to the 200 block of W. Sheridan Place to assist with a female having a medical issue. Patient was transported by Lake Forest Ambulance #421 to the Lake Forest Hospital. Found Property 08/22/ :31: E WASHINGTON AVE Narrative: Officer responded to the PSB for a report of a resident who purchased a purse online and found a U.S passport inside the purse. Records attempted to contact the U.S Passport owner and lest a message for her to inform her that her passport is at the Lake Bluff Police Department. The passport has been entered in the found property book and placed in the found property closet. Check Well Being 08/22/ :05: SHERIDAN RD Narrative: Officer responded to the bike path between Crab Tree Farms and Shore Acres Rd for a well being check. The complainant stated that there was a subject laying in the grass at an opening to the bike path next a bicycle. Officer located the subject and verified that the subject was fine and was not in need of medical assistance. Officer cleared. Alarm Residential 08/22/ :44: E NORTH AVE Narrative: Officer responded to the 300 block of E. North Ave for a report of an activated burglar alarm. Officer arrived on scene and found the exterior of the residence secured and noted no irregularities.

Accident Property Damage 08/22/ :02: ROCKLAND RD Narrative: Officer responded to Rt 176 and Shagbark Ln for a 2 vehicle property damage accident. A formal SR report was filed. Suspicious Vehicle 08/22/ :32: E SHERIDAN PL Narrative: Officers responded to the area of Sheridan Rd and E. Sheridan Pl. for a report of a tractor trailer driver attempting to stop vehicles on Sheridan Rd. Officers located the truck on E. Sheridan Pl and the driver stated that he was lost looking for Lake Bluff Middle School but had now found it and was no longer in need of assistance. Alarm Business 08/23/ :52: SHERIDAN RD Narrative: Officers responded to the Lake Bluff train depot for an activated burglar alarm. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the ticket agent who had set the alarm off in error. Officers observed no irregularities and cleared to resume patrol duties. Suspicious Incident 08/23/ :47: SKOKIE HWY Narrative: Officer responded to the Public Safety Building for a suspicious circumstance involving my complainant and a client regarding a contract for refinishing furniture. Ambulance Assist 08/23/ :55: W WASHINGTON AVE Narrative: Officer responded to the 200 block of West Washington Avenue to assist rescue for a patient with an injury. Lake Bluff and Lake Forest Fire Departments responded. The patient was transported to Lake Forest Hospital via ambulance 421. Officer confirmed that no additional assistance was required and cleared. Alarm Business 08/23/ :07: SHERWOOD TER Narrative: Officer responded to the block of Sherwood Terrace, for an activated duress alarm. Prior to arriving, Officer was advised that the alarm was set off for unknown reasons. Officer met with an employee who was in contact with the alarm company to try to determine the reason for the alarm. No irregularities were observed, and Officer cleared. Citizen Assist 08/23/ :23: RAVINE AVE / SIMPSON AVE Narrative: Officer responded to the area of Ravine Avenue at Simpson Avenue for a report of a lost dog. Officer determined the missing dog was a black and white colored Australian Shepard. Officer attempted to locate the dog on both the beach front and parts of the ravine where it was last seen. 5 Narrative: Officer responded to the 200 block of 240 E Washington Ave for a report of a fire in the oven. Lake Bluff Fire Department Engine 519 responded. Prior to Officer and LBFD arrival the fire was out. Officer stood by until no further assistance was needed and Officer cleared. Accident Property Damage 08/23/ :25: S WAUKEGAN RD / ROCKLAND RD Narrative: Officer responded to Route 176 and Route 43 for a report of a 2 vehicle property damage traffic accident. Officer arrived on scene and determined that the accident occurred in Lake County Sheriff's Department jurisdiction. Lake County Sheriff's were notified and officer cleared. Child Seat 08/23/ :28: E CENTER AVE Narrative: Subject came into the Lake Bluff Public Safety Building to have her child safety seat installed. A Operation Kids Child Safety Seat Checklist was signed and seat was installed. Driving Complaint / Traffic Arrest 08/23/ :47: SKOKIE HWY Narrative: Officers responded to Route 41 north bound for a report of a driving complaint. The complainant stated that a red in color vehicle was having difficulty maintaining its lane and would like to sign a complaint. Officers located the vehicle on Route 41 north bound and conducted a traffic stop north of Route 137. The driver was arrested for 2 counts of improper lane usage, failure to use lights when required, operating an uninsured vehicle, driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence over a.08 BAC. Ambulance Assist 08/24/ :55: PINE CT Narrative: Officer responded to the 600 block of Pine Ct for a female feeling ill. LBFD and LFFD Ambulance 421 arrived on scene. Subject transported to Lake Forest Hospital. No further assistance required and Officer cleared. Driving Complaint 08/24/ :11: N RT 41 / W DEERPATH Narrative: Officers responded to the area of Green Bay Road at our southern limits for a driving complaint of a possibly intoxicated driver. The driver pulled into a parking lot in Lake Forest prior to entering Lake Bluff jurisdiction. Lake Forest Police located the vehicle and stated there are no problems. Officer cleared. Theft Under $300 08/24/ :42: SKOKIE VALLEY RD Narrative: Officer responded to the 100 block of Skokie Highway for a delayed theft of items left in a drop off location. The subjects were identified, but no charges pressed at this time. Accident Property Damage 08/24/ :49: S WAUKEGAN RD / ROCKLAND RD Narrative: Officers responded to Route 43 at North Shore Drive for a two vehicle personal injury crash. Lake Bluff Assistant Fire Chief was on scene with Lake Forest Fire Department. One subject was transported to Lake Forest Hospital. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Citation was issued for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. See formal SR10-50 report for further. Check Well Being 08/24/ :37: ROCKLAND RD
6 Narrative: Officers responded to the 900 block of Rockland Road for a report of an employee acting strangely to customers. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the employee who appeared to be having a medical problem. Subject was the only employee at the store and officers were able to have another employee respond to the store. The subject was transported to Lake Forest Hospital by ambulance. Alarm Residential 08/24/ :37: SHORE ACRES DR Narrative: Officer responded to the 1800 block of Shore Acres Road for an activated burglar alarm. Dispatch advises that proper code was given and only verification was needed. Officer met with the homeowner who stated that the alarm was set off on accident. Officer observed no irregularities and cleared to resume patrol duties. Alarm Business / Theft 08/24/ :59: ROCKLAND RD Narrative: Officers responded to the 900 block of Rockland Rd for a retail theft. Subjects entered the store and ran out with several cell phones. The case is under investigation. Citizen Assist 08/24/ :49: ROCKLAND RD Narrative: Officer responded to the 900 block of Rockland Rd for a report of lost car keys. The caller stated he lost his car keys somewhere between where he parked and inside the store. Officer checked the area and could not locate the keys. Employees were made aware of the incident and will contact the caller should they find the car keys. Officer performed a vehicle lockout for the caller so they could gather some belongings. Traffic Arrest 08/24/ :22: SKOKIE HWY / BEACON ST Narrative: Officer issued T42346 for speeding and T42347 for driving while license suspended. Missing Person 08/25/ :16: OAK TER Narrative: Officer responded to the 100 block of Oak Terrace for a report of an adult male missing since approximately 1915 hours on 09/24/2016. Officers initiated a case, and the subject was later located. Alarm Business 08/25/ :16: ARMOUR DR Narrative: Officer responded to the 900 block of Armour Drive for an activated burglar alarm. Upon arrival officer met with Security who stated he activated the alarm in error while opening the business. They stated there are no problems at the location and officer cleared. Animal Complaint 08/25/ :09: GREEN BAY RD / OAK RIDGE CT Narrative: Officer responded to Green Bay Road and Oak Ridge Court for a report of an injured deer. Officer arrived on scene and located the deceased deer in the grass off of Oak Ridge Court. Public Works was notified and will be removing the deer and disposing of it. Officer cleared to resume patrol duties. S Ordinance Violation 08/25/ :59: E SCRANTON AVE / SHERIDAN RD Narrative: Officers responded to a solicitor complaint somewhere on E Scranton Ave. The caller stated males were selling candy. Officer located one of the subjects at the Scranton cutoff who stated he was selling water and juices.
7 Officer issued the subject a written warning for soliciting without a permit and advised him on how to obtain a permit through Village Hall. The subject stated he would tell his cousin who was not with him at the time and that they would go to a different town. Officer cleared. Lost/Mislaid Property 08/25/ :40: W SHERIDAN PL Narrative: Officer responded to the 400 block of W. Sheridan Pl for a lost/mislaid wallet. The complainant stated she was unable to locate her wallet after using it in Lake Forest on 08/24/16 at noon. Accident Property Damage 08/26/ :59: ROCKLAND RD / GREEN BAY RD Narrative: Officer responded to W. Scranton Avenue near Garfield Avenue for a 2 car property damage accident. Both driver's were issued traffic citations and officer completed an Illinois Traffic Crash Report Assist Fire 08/26/ :44: MOFFETT RD Narrative: Officer responded with the Lake Bluff Fire Department to the block of Moffett Road for an activated fire alarm. Alarm was determined to have been caused by construction dust. No other police service was requested. Accident Property Damage 08/26/ :58: S WAUKEGAN RD / ROCKLAND RD Narrative: Officer responded to the area of Rt. 176 and Rt. 43 for a two vehicle property damage accident. Officer completed an Illinois Traffic Crash Report. Citizen Assist 08/26/ :55: SKOKIE HWY Narrative: Officer responded to a Dealership with a VIN inspection on a 2016 BMW that will be titled in the state of Indiana. Public Health and Safety 08/26/ :55: SKOKIE HWY Narrative: Officer responded to N/B Rt. 41, south of Rt. 176 for a report of fire extinguisher in the roadway. Officer was unable to locate the item and cleared. Ordinance Violation 08/26/ :31: E SCRANTON AVE Narrative: Officer responded to the area of the 200 block of E. Scranton Ave for a report of a solicitor described as a male wearing long shorts, a t shirt and a hat backwards, selling candy approximately 1 hour ago. Officer checked the area and was unable to locate any solicitors in the area. Parking Problem 08/26/ :24: MAWMAN AVE Narrative: Officer responded to 600 block of Mawman Avenue for a report of a vehicle blocking a driveway. Officer checked the area and found one vehicle parked on the roadway, but no violations observed. Vehicle was parked in two hour limit parking, Officer will return to check after 2 hours. Youth Problem 08/26/ :57: SUNRISE AVE
8 Narrative: Officer responded to Sunrise Beach for report of y/o Juveniles bullying other kids by the north shelter. Officer checked the area and observed no irregularities. Officer met with the complainant and advised her children had to stop swimming because there was no lifeguard on duty. Officer walked north and south limits of the beach and then cleared. Suspicious Person 08/26/ :17: SHERIDAN RD Narrative: Officer responded to the train depot for a suspicious person; a male approximately 6'4 and 220lbs at the north end of the parking lot reportedly watching people get in and out of their cars. Officer searched the area and was unable to locate the subject and Officer cleared. Citizen Assist 08/26/ :17: FOREST VIEW DR Narrative: Officers responded to area of Forest View and Green Bay Road for a report of something "dead-smelling", called in by a resident of Rivers Drive. Officers checked the area and observed possible gas/sulfur smell on Forest View, east of Green Bay Road, near Rivers Drive. LCSO was notified and Officers cleared. Public Health and Safety 08/26/ :49: SKOKIE HWY / ROCKLAND RD Narrative: Officer responded to N/B Rt. 41 under the Rt. 176 bridge for a barrel in the roadway. Officer located a 55 gallon metal drum, empty, with a flammable liquid-methanol label on it. Officer moved it off the side of the road and Dispatch notified IDOT to remove it. Officer cleared then was notified of a vehicle that struck the barrel earlier sitting near 176. Officer met with the subject who had minor damage to the passenger side, front wheel well. Driver did not want a crash report, just an incident number. Officer then cleared Citizen Assist 08/26/ :11: TROWBRIDGE CIR Narrative: Officer met with a subject in the lobby for her neighbor s dog sitter who locked themselves out of a home on Trowbridge Circle, and they were unable to contact the homeowner.. Officer responded to the address and met with the complainant, dog sitter and another neighbor. Officer verified the dog sitter had permission to be there. While on scene, the neighbor was able to open a rear door. No further assistance required and Officer cleared. Suspicious Incident 08/27/ :42: E WASHINGTON AVE Narrative: Officer responded to the 100 block of E. Washington Avenue to meet with the home owner regarding a glass storm door that was broken some time during the evening hours. Officer observed that the storm door was shattered and majority of the glass was piled on the outside of the door. Alarm Residential 08/27/ :12: RAVINE FOREST DR Narrative: Officers responded to the block of Ravine Forest Drive for an activated burglar alarm. Officers met with the homeowner who stated the alarm was set off by accident. Officers observed no irregularities and cleared. Citizen Assist 08/27/ :32: MAWMAN AVE Narrative: Officer responded to the 700 block of Mawman Avenue to meet with the home owner regarding a large tree branch that had fallen from a tree at the north end of his property. The tree branch fell from a tree that appeared to be on the Village of Lake Bluff right of way and did not cause damage. A notification will be sent to the Lake Bluff Public Works department for follow up. No other police service requested.
9 Animal Found 08/27/ :07: ARMOUR DR / GREEN BAY RD Narrative: Officer responded to the PSB for a found dog. Officer had previous contact with the dog and contacted the owner who responded to the PSB to claim the animal. Officer issued cafe citation C for dog at large. Animal Complaint 08/27/ :06: E WASHINGTON AVE / MOFFETT RD Narrative: Officer responded to the area of Moffett Road and E. Washington Avenue for a complaint of 2 dogs running at large. The complainant stated they did not wish to meet with an officer and officer was not able to locate the dogs. Alarm Business 08/27/ :19: SHERWOOD TER Narrative: Officers responded to the block of Sherwood Terrace for an activated burglar alarm. Officers verified that the building was secured and no other irregularities were observed. Dispatch stated the alarm company was checking for a key holder and no other police service was requested. Citizen Assist 08/27/ :04: SKOKIE HWY Narrative: Officer responded to a car dealership for a VIN verification for Indiana. Service was provided and officer cleared. Intoxicated Person 08/27/ :11: S WAUKEGAN RD Narrative: Officers responded to the 200 block of S. Waukegan Rd. for a report of an intoxicated person. The complainant was the manager and advised that an employee was intoxicated and began to become confrontational and belligerent. The manager was requesting police assistance removing the subject from the property. Officers met with the employee while the manager advised him that he was suspended pending an investigation and was no longer welcome on the property. Officers escorted the subject out of the store and issued him W30644 for no trespassing. The subject left the area with a sober driver and officers cleared when no further assistance was needed. Traffic Stop 08/27/ :46: GREEN BAY RD / W WITCHWOOD LN Narrative: Officer conducted a traffic stop on southbound Green Bay Road south of West Witchwood Lane and subsequently arrested the driver for driving while license suspended. W29741 was issued for improper lane usage and T42352 was issued for driving while license suspended. Towing removed the vehicle and the driver was released on a $1, personal recognizance bond with a mandatory court date of 10/04/2014 at 1030 hours at Park City Branch Court. 08/29/2016 7:52:33 AM
