Located next to the famous pit head gear, it is the ideal place for lectures and speeches, meetings and smaller conferences. Distribution hall After a conference or a presentation in the Electricity distribution station, the Transformer hall with its historic machinery offers an attractive setting for a reception or dinner. 6 HALL 5 Hall 5 [A5] The central workshop for all Zollverein divisions was formerly located at Shaft XII. Hall 5 accommodated the forge and the metalworking shop. Today, Hall 5 mainly offers space: 800 square metres and a ceiling height of 10 metres make this hall a perfect location for largescale events product launches and presentations, conventions, fairs, exhibitions, and concerts. The industrial museums and authentic locations on the Route of Industrial Heritage come alive through multimedia. When the coal mine was in operation, the two thickeners were used to prepare coal slurry for further processing. Complemented by means of contemporary interior design, Thickener I is now an attractive lecture and exhibition room, whereas the film RUHR360 is shown in Thickener II. 18 Salt Store Salt Store [C88] Since 2001, the former Salt Store has accommodated the snail-shaped installation The Palace of Projects by the artists Ilya and Emilia Kabakov, which is just perfect as a poetic eye-catcher during corporate and kick-off events. The inspiring installation creates the setting for creative workshops, meetings and discussions. The salt store belongs to the white side of the coking plant where the machinery for the further processing of by-products of coke production are located. The Oktogon impresses with its avant-garde ambience and contemporary architecture.
