POPS IN THE PARK FUNDRAISER - We are working with the Kiwanis Club of East Sacramento as the only food vendor at the Pops in the Park in Natomas this year. The event is on Saturday, September 15th, 2018 at South Natomas Community Park, and local band Latin Touch is playing. President s Message John Draper has done such a great job of putting our activities on the front page of the TWIK, I would feel bad about repeating things here! But... At the last meeting of the 2017/2018 Board, we voted on a plan to complete our commitment to Eliminate. That plan does include funds from the Talent Auction and the Paint Party Yoli has graciously given us.. Please plan on starting a bidding war at the AM or PM or BOTH meetings and sign up with Yoli,( as of this week-end there were spots to be had!! Lt. Gov Elect, Lorie is planning on being there!) ATTENTION New Auction Items: Dave Canady, " Happy Birthday" played with bagpipes by Piper in FULL Scottish attire at your Sacramento area location. minimum bid $75, value $150. (perfect for a 60th Birthday Party!) Cecilia Osladil, Cooking Class for 6 at your location, minimum bid $100, value $240 Sunday's Club Installation will be at Dave Canady's (Thanks Dave!) at 11 am. (His address is in the roster) The menu is based on recipes found in this year's TWIK. 5 This Week s Recipe Lemon Dutch Baby 3 eggs 2/3 cups milk 2/3 cups flour dash of salt dash of nutmeg 4 tsp lemon zest splash of vanilla 4 Tbsp. butter 2 Tbsp. powdered sugar Heat oven to 450' Beat eggs until very pale, about 5 minutes. Add milk, flour, salt, nutmeg, 2 tsp lemon zest and vanilla. Heat a metal skillet in the oven. Add butter to hot skillet to melt about 3 minutes. Pour in egg mixture into skillet and bake for 20 minutes. Serve warm with powdered sugar tossed with remaining lemon zest.
