Check out these online to see which one has demonstrators that you are interested in seeing. There will be Board Meeting October 16, 2017 at beginning at noon. Lunch is on your own. Nominations for next year s club officers will be needed next month so a vote can be made at the November 2017 meeting with installation in December The AAW has a new free website with lots of wood turning videos: AAWVideoSource.org There are 60 day free trial memberships offered at the AAW website: If our club has 100% participation in AAW we would qualify for two (2) Scholarships per year. Two new vendors where added that are offering discounts for purchases: Kingsport offering a 10% discount on non-power items and Vantage Lumber Co. 10% on orders over $ plus free shipping, they are also offering orders over $ % plus free shipping. They are also going to be sending the club gift certificates and will provide advice on sanding over the phone. Just mention that you are a member of the Cumberland Woodturners Club when placing your order. An updated membership roster has been sent to Hartville Tools. If you order from them mention that you are a member of the Cumberland Woodturners and you will get a 15% discount. Steve Sullentrup is working with the owner of the Grinder House Coffee Shop in Crossville, TN to make arrangements for members to place pieces of their turned items in the coffee shop for display and sale. Once details are worked out Steve will let the club know and the only mark up will be 10% for tax. We encourage people to keep turning Beads of Courage boxes as the need never ends. We encourage all members to visit the website: we would like each member to submit a bio and pictures of his/her work. Send photos and/or bios to our Webmaster: Josh Bowman: jsbowman@bellsouth.net Rod Smith reported a balance of $ in Checking and $ Petty Cash. A complete list of club officers and coordinators for events can be found at the sidebar on page one. Safety Notes Bruce Brackett talked about sanding inside vessels and boxes not to use your bare fingers.
