Gov't. Way and submittal of the EZ form for 501(c)3 status in the near future. Hayden, ID The Airport approved the painting of a compass rose by the 99s on the north side near the firehouse. The ramp is being rebuilt near the Hagadone Jetport and parking area. - Pavilion project: Mike Kostur said the Marine Corps League will pay for the architectural drawings (est. New and Renewing Members $7k). Mike has ordered button front shirts (24 each $24) and a variety of hats with Cd AAA/Pappy George Franco Boyington Field logos on the Marine Corps League s behalf. Statue dedication at Resort Aviation will be at 5:30 p.m. June 13 with Gregory Boyington s grandson attending. - Intermountain Chapter of the 99s will meet September in Spokane (see ad). Airport security is - Joan reported that a number of cities have applied for a grant to develop the autonomously piloted vehicle (APV) industry in this area. For advice on noxious weeds, including spotted knapweed, thistles and others, contact the county Noxious Weed Program Office on the east side of the airport. In western Montana, we've found the most expedient control for spotted knapweed is to keep it mowed down; no spray, no fertilizer; just mowing prevents the formation of blossoms and seedheads. 9 On September 16, 2014 the Coeur D Alene Airport initiated a Wildlife Hazard Assessment (WHA) to address the potential risk posed by wildlife on and near the airport. The WHA is a 12-month ecological study that must be performed in accordance with FAA guidance at Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) Part , "Wildlife Hazard Management." This assessment will be conducted by an FAA-Qualified Wildlife Biologist that will identify wildlife activity, available habitat, and wildlife management strategies. Based on the results of the WHA study, FAA will determine whether a Wildlife Hazard Management Plan is needed for the airport. ***We would ask that if you are flying into or out of the Airport and you see some wildlife that could be hazardous to the flying public, that you please the Airport with the time and approximate location of the hazard so we can use that information in the study.
