The presentation will be just short of an hour and will be held at 1600 hours on August 17th, 2012 at the Coeur d'alene Aircraft Office, Sensor Avenue, Hayden, ID There is only room for 35 individuals to take the course so early registration is recommended. 3 CdAAA Fly-In Update Refer to Schedule of events on page 2 and the map on page 4. The CAF B-17 and B-25 and a 1930 New Standard D-25 biplane will be available for rides and tours at Resort Aviation August and Sunday August 20. On Friday evening August 17 they will be on display by the USO Show hanger, and on Saturday they will be on display with the other military aircraft and will be available for rides in the afternoon. So far we have ride reservations for 21 folks on the two CAF planes. Boats from the N-22 Vintage Hydroplane Team in Hayden also plan to attend. On Friday evening Ekness will cater the dinner of pulled pork and jerked chicken sandwiches, baked beans, potato salad, pasta salad, condiments and water served at Resort Aviation's hanger 22 at Airport Dr., Hayden, ID. Team Miss Spokane will have a display in Murdo's hanger (5). Working scale model aircraft engines, cars and boats will be displayed in Al Near's hanger (1). R/C Models will be on static display in Carl Lewis' hanger (2). Special Guests will be in Paul Rau's hanger (3). Food and Craft vendors will be setup in the grass strips between Carl Lewis' and Murdo's hangers and open after 10:00 a.m. Jerry and Sue Spreen are arranging a USO style show with a dance after. A DJ has been retained to provide the music. There will also be a beer garden and pizza after the dinner. We have the use of the Fair Ground's People Mover to provide transportation around our event area. Coeur d'alene Tractor will supply the tractor. Empire Airlines has donated the cost of The Coeur d'alene Resort's van to provide transportation between the CdA Airport and the CdA Resort. The van will leave the CdA Airport on the hour and the CdA Resort on the half hour. First pickup at the CdA Airport is 10:00 a.m. The last pickup at the CdA Resort is 5:30 p.m. On Saturday morning Ekness will cater a pancake breakfast in Hubof's hanger (4). There will be food and craft vendors and a beer garden after the breakfast. Joan and Rod Genter, retired ANG, will be handling ground operations for arriving and departing aircraft. Dean Haagenson has made a donation to cover the cost of 2 of the porta-potties. For safety considerations, GA aircraft that will be on static display will be guided to a shut down area and then moved to the display area. The Marine Corps League Pappy Boyington Detachment #966 will provide crowd management. Steve Soper will be the air boss during the Sport Air Racing League's Pappy Boyington Memorial Cup race. Several classic trucks, including Gene Soper's 1963 Mack tractor, and several motorcycles will be on static display. Cars from the Porsche Club and the PT Cruisers will attend. Cars from the Spokane Model T Club, the Inland Empire Mustang Club and the North Idaho Car Club have been invited to attend. Action Items from the July 18 Board Meeting: 1. The State is going to put on a program that will qualify for FAA Wings credit for 1 hour and then for a second hour something informational like search and rescue or winter flying. We will then have a lunch available. Then people can walk around and see what is there. We are also working with the Priest River Chamber of Commerce to make this a community day so local people can come and see "their" airport. We will put together a flyer in the next month or so and we will make sure you have several. If you can get me some posters for the CDA event I will be happy to post them at our airport. If you need High Visibility Vests for your event please let me know. We have been doing them for the EAA event in Oshkosh for years. Look at safetyline.com to see what we have.
