2 Welcome to our 10th on-property bull sale Our 2018 team of bulls are comfortably the most impressive we have ever presented, which is fitting because this is our 10 th Annual Sale. This year we have presented them in more forward condition than usual in order to best display their industry leading traits. However, we have ensured their future working life wont be compromised and they are fit not fat! The highest scan was only 10ml of fat-they are all meat. It is particularly pleasing to see some outstanding sons of Summit Western Star who are probably the best bulls we have ever offered I am talking about M83 and M227 and we excited about building on these genetics in the future. We received another boost from the 2017 Gate2Plate Harvey Beef Challenge when our team of 2 steers and 1 heifer earned $200 per head more than the average of all 60 teams and even more than that over the Angus teams. This was achieved with a 15% higher growth rate and a 2% higher dressing percentage. Also, we feel that our type of cattle will be well above average on carcase yield which is about to be measured (DEXA). Hopefully animals with superior yield will be paid accordingly. Gelbvieh sired cattle are running 4% above Angus in a current American MARC trial. We are also pleased to offer 67 well put together composite weaner heifers that have potential as breeders. The Gelbvieh infusion helps with shape, early maturity and calf rearing efficiency. Thank you for coming and hope you are seeing some logic in the way are cattle are progressing.
