1 Caer Urfa U3A Newsletter March 2017 After 40 days & nights ( a bit more really) of wandering, here we are, back in familiar surroundings. I think that we are all relieved that, after a difficult couple of months, that the Armstrong Hall became available to us again for our monthly meetings, and it is especially timely considering that our A.G.M is coming up in April. On the subject of the A.G.M., I am including our chairman s message to you all, which appeared in last month s newsletter. A message from Tony Kelly, Chairman It s the time of the year when we have to get things prepared for the Annual General meeting on the 5 th April, when we have to pester you to think about standing for a place on the committee. I know most of you just want an easy life now you ve retired, but I m sure one or two of you might like to get a little more involved in organising your U3A, but you might be a little shy, well now is the time to to let us know. The Business secretary, Tony Cauley, has attached some nomination forms to this month s newsletter. If you think you would like to make a contribution by standing for election, please fill the form in and get it proposed and seconded and back to Tony Cauley three weeks before the AGM at the latest. According to our constitution, all committee members must stand for re-election at the AGM, but some have to stand down because they have served their full term, and we need new committee members to replace them, otherwise the chairman has to ask if they can stand again. Don t be shy, Your U3A needs you.
