For details of Sunday buses, please see next page Changes to Services E1, E2 and E6 from Sunday 4 June 2017 Over recent times, you ve told us that these services aren t as reliable as you need them to be. Regrettably, we re finding that these services are encountering increasing levels of traffic congestion, and this is causing delays. We continue to work in partnership with our local authority colleagues to try and mitigate their congestion issues, but it is clear that any improvements to the highway may unfortunately take some time to deliver. We therefore need to take action now to improve the reliability of your bus service. To help reduce the problems caused by this traffic congestion, Services E1, E2 and E6 will no longer operate to or from Park Lane Interchange, and buses will instead terminate on Fawcett Street, close to its junction with St.Thomas Street. By removing this lesser used extension at the end of the route, buses will be able to regain their times much more quickly when things do go wrong. To further assist reliability, Service E2 trips arriving in South Shields will be revised to operate direct via Station Road, and will therefore no longer serve the Town Hall bus stops. Most journeys are retimed, although basic frequencies remain unchanged. All tickets are issued subject to the Company's Conditions of Carriage and Passenger Regulations.
